Did you weigh the difference between having your roof painted and having the wrap done? What did you pay for the wrap? How long did it take to install? Thanks,

Roof painting typically costs between 1200-2000. The vinyl will be between 100-300 parts and install.

$200 for roof and fin. There was no way I was going to paint it. Takes a couple hours.

Anyone have this on and pull it off? How does it do to the paint under it esp with black and sun beating down on it all year?

How long does it typically last? Something you need to do every 2 years or are they pretty solid at being on for a long time.

It's fine for the paint. Just uses a typical adhesive.

The vinyl's durability varies greatly with the quality of vinyl used. The standard for this kind of application is usually a "7 year vinyl". I've personally had this type of vinyl installed for 3+ years in the Florida sun and haven't had an issue.

In short: don't worry about it :P

Hey do your front headlights have the white stripe across the top of them? I know this is an old thread but I just bought a used alpine white 128i. I'm thinking of tinting the windows, black vinyl wrapping the window trim (they are currently chrome), making the wheels black, and changing the kidney grills to black, but I'm not sure if there's anything to do on the front headlights. (I may look into blackline rear taillights too though). Thanks in advance!
