If you want to cut up the stock mid, I'd just suggest being very picky about which resonators you use. Some sound great and exotic, some sound like a civic with diarrhea. No doubt it can be done cheap, but hopefully it gets done right. |

Vibrant makes good quality resonators I know for a fact.
The only thing I don't know is how they sound on this car. They were popular on the evo platform, but do post videos! |

Seem to be having an issue.
Since I am located in Ny no shop is willing to remove the secondary cats. They state that it is illegal and is a $20,000 fine. I have been denied twice so far. |

Thats rough. Is there any more "mom and pop" kinda shops? Here in MA we have similar emissions laws, but I know of at least 1-2 shops would would cut cats off cars, weld straight pipes etc lol. Theres gotta be someone willing to do it? Thats what I was trying to hint at earlier, that if you have to pay for the labor (especially more than once) it may actually end up costing you more than a pre-made piece that you could bolt on yourself. |

VERY COOL! It looks like it fits great, and looks awesome anyways. Cant wait for a sound clip. Vibrants sounded great on the last car I had with a 6-cyl, but I've never had them on an inline six.

One major difference is the smell haha
I didn't want straight pipe because I am not a fan of rasp. Asides from that not too much of a difference just a deeper tone. I'm contemplating removing the last OEM resonator that connects the axleback to the midpipes. I'll see if I can make some WOT vids. |
