Dinan Update Available
My local Dinan dealer just called to tell me that an update has arrived for the Dinan Stage II tune and this should fix the lack of Cruise Control issue. Has anyone else heard this ??

UPDATE: Just spoke with Dinan Tech Support and they said that the latest version does indeed address the Cruise Control issue. So if there's anyone else out there with a Dinan Tune but no CC, get down to your local Dinan dealer and have your car reflashed !!

Yes people,
I am happy to report the patch works and all is well. Some additional things I noted: I always get used to the tune (or the car gets used to me) before any flash. Then, when I get back in, the car feels slow. This time though, even though I still felt the initial "slow" phase, by the end of the day, the car seemed to be performing as before. Even though I was told that this was a fix patch only, I detected some slight differences in the overall engine profile of acceleration and power. In first gear, the car seems to be more linear in its acceleration with no sudden boost after 3000 rpm. Again this is only in first gear. The acceleration also seems to be from lower down the revs. Although not completely gone, this flash seems to have somewhat reduced the overall "lag issue" that I had written about previously. Fourth gear acceleration seems to be only slightly less and again more linear. Again let me reiterate, this may all be in my mind, but I thought that I would comment. THe cruise control, now that it works, is surprisingly rudimentary. WHen you decrease speed, the brakes are not applied and you have to click the stalk forward to make any substantial increase in speed quickly. To be honest, I don't know why I wanted to get it fixed now that I have it! Love to hear your reports! PS. Previously, some of you may have thought I was very disappointed at Dinan for not resolving the CC fix in the second update. To be fair, I have been very happy with all the Dinan staff at Morgan Hill. Just to clarify, they have been excellent and rather than being infuriated, I was just a little surprised that the CC fix was causing so much bother. The benefits from even the first flash certainly outweigh any previous drawbacks to this flash. I just wouldn't want Dinan to lose business in these harsh economic times because of me. |

Just had mine done today and I could not be happier. One other thing I noticed is that the car seems to have a smoother idle, such as when waiting at a traffic light. Previously the car seemed to "stumble" when it was sitting at idle and you could actually watch it take place on the tach.

I got my Dinan tune from a place in Tampa (C2) and I am in desperate need of the update because I do alot of highway driving...
My question is can I get the update at a different place or do I have to go back to Tampa and get the update? Thanks in advance...

If you want to be 100% comfortable, phone the dealer you went to orignially and ask them to confirm that you can go anywhere and ask them to phone the dealer you want to go to so that you can be reassured you won't have to pay for the update there. |

Your dealer lent you a courtesy car while they installed a mod?
