The mythical 451whp n54

This guy over on e90 got 451whp and 465lbs of tq. These are probably the highest numbers to date for an N54. How did he do it? Read the thread. Can you say NOS? He says he didn't mean to spray but everyone on the board agrees the car was taking in some giggle gas. I'm just shocked that thing didn't go kaboom.

Yessir. It's been done. Everyone just questioned how safe it was because this guy was basically running a dry shot with no added fuel. He was spraying down his intercooler via a NOS chill bar and apparently the car started breathing in the gas.

Car managed to handle it for one run. His internals must be begging for mercy. That engine will blow within the next 15-20k.

No it won't. A nitrous intercooler chiller has always shown to make big power. I agree its not a wise thing to do, but since its not a direct dry shot, the engine should be completely fine.

If there was no detonation, there wouldn't be any damage. The bottleneck in the N54 is its stock turbos, not the engine internals.

was this car being tuned while sprayed? if so they could adjust the a/f and timing for it and depending on the shot you won't harm the motor...

I saw that thread over on e90post. It was not even a dynojet, seemed like fake numbers.

no one know what the potential of these internals are yet.

Well thus far internals have held up fine too 400+ hp. Only time will tell. However, there are a few guys with quite a bit of mileage on them with no issues as of yet....

IMO 400 HP is plenty with this car for daily use.

For just one dyno run, it can be done. I've spiked to ~33psi accidentally a few times on one of my other cars. Just for second, no harm.....
