Custom monoblock forged wheel thread

Figured I'd make a thread and keep everyone updated with the progress wit these custom wheels being made. Was looking to go outside of the handful of available wheels for the 135 and get something different/better/cheaper (yes these things do exist). So far this is what we have come up with.

The first is the schematics - I am waiting on clarification on the ET reflecting 2 different numbers, uncertain if the engineer did a typo, or if there is a difference from the point of measurement and my request on the schematic.

The others are a few CG pics. Then a pic of the same design on my Tesla I've had for a few years now.

Once these are done and have been test fitted, I'll post up their contact info in the second post here so you can reach out to them if you want to get a proper set of wheels direct from a manufacturer, skip the middle man that takes a cut of the $, and, be able to get any of hundreds of designs, in any offset, size, or other spec that you want.

<I still need to validate caliper clearance for the M brakes, but these measurements should be good enough as-is>
<I'll also get getting a set of matching 17" for drag radials on the rear, but need to validate fitment of these before ordering those>

And here are the ones currently on my Tesla, they are 18x8.5 and weigh a whopping 17.3 pounds, rated at 750kg.

Would love to see more info.

Any plans to have matching sizes available through the company for M offsets, nice pattern.

This is an actual wheel manufacturer so you send them the specs and they cut the designs from scratch. The type of wheel, the offset, diameter, width, bolt pattern are all irrelevant because they can make anything.

I spoke with StevieJ2 via PM. I am interested to see how this turns out and he has already dealt with the company for his Tesla. Hopefully someone will take the ball and run with it and maybe get a group buy or lot of 5 sets going.

So sick of the limited options without redoing the whole rear hubs.

On the group buy thing, I brought that up with my rep at the company, and if you do their MOQ of 5 sets, the price is a little lower. However, shipping is a large portion of the cost; the reason they drop their costs is because they can just freight a pallet of wheels to a single location. If I had a pallet delivered to me, any savings from a group buy would be consumed by reshipping the wheels to the individuals.

It may be something I run by her again out of curiosity, but the reality is they are a large manufacturer that focuses on business to business sales, and us as individuals probably wouldn't equate to 0.5% of their revenue, so we're lucky to get any attention at all, much less special attention. The last thing is that these wheels are +/- $250 each (depending on design, specs and paint), which includes shipping. That is a custom cut t6061 forged wheel shipped to your door for $250... It's already a ridiculously low price.

What kind of rating do they carry? Sorry if already mentioned.

Depends on the wheel diameter, width, and offset. My 18x8.5" in this design on a 35et are at 750kg. These 19" for the beemer are 690kg. They use I think it's the via or jwl (one of those) standards on internal certifications.

I don't have all of the info on certifications and ratings; only a basic understanding.

Did you ever get the wheels installed? I am looking to get a pair of 17s for the rear.

They have some nice wheels on their website. I been looking for a similar wheel to 313 but stronger and lighter. They have one close

Yeah I got the 19" installed, not going to do the 17" rears because I'm going to sell the car. This was my first and last BMW, not really fond of the ridiculous amount of maintenance and small things that you have to deal with compared to other cars with better performance.

Here's a pic of the 19"

Were you able to confirm if these wheels are JWL VIA and/or TUV approved/certified?
Are the wheels stamped with the certifications?

They are jwl and via, the TUV certification is on the wheel blanks, not with Jova.
