So, out of curiosity, why did you decide on the 1? Everyone's getting 1-series fever lately. It's amazing how relatively unloved they were when new.

I have a 2008 135 M-sport. 178K miles. New coils, injectors and plugs. Was not really looking to sell but will for the right price, because I am in 2 minds of switching to a Porsche SUV.

Yes, they were unloved at the start. So was the Z4 M Roadster, and I had one of those, too. What I like about the E8X is the size and fun factor. Not as big as a larger 3 or 5, not as small as a Mini. 6 cylinders, good, balanced base performance and the ability to scale up relatively easily if one wants. Keep the 2 series, as others have said, it's the 1's fat sister. Have to admit I was not impressed by the 1M. Yes, it is a solid uber-performer, and as time has shown, the values skyrocketed. Most of the previous M cars followed a specific development path, very unique from the pedestrian models, and this one borrowed a LOT from the 135. One can still buy 3 good S54-engined cars for the price of a 1M. Okay, flame suit on. Last edited by fotontom; 01-13-2022 at 03:05 PM.. |

Burn, baby, Burn!!! Wait till the 1m'ers, 2'er or S54'er see this! I'm with you though. Guess this is why this forum is called 1Addicts. To tell the truth, when I first bought the car I kind liked it. But as I gained more seat time and began to learn more of what the car can do (much of it explained with this group), then I quickly fell in love.
