Did not post any sound clips as it does not do it any justice, you must hear it in person. Had my system fitted at Menlyn Auto BMW in Pretoria (check out Akrapovic Exhaust System on Facebook). You can speak to Juan (parts manager at Menlyn Auto). If you want to see and hear the system in person you can ask Juan for my number then we can meet up.

Checked your post on BMW Fanatics, how was your advanced driving course? Akrapovic is BMW approved, looks like your dealer does not know much. Contact Menlyn Auto BMW (M dealer) in Pretoria where i had mine installed and speak to the Parts manager (Juan).

Does anyone have any of the following production info:[LIST]
total, which country got what, has production ceased, SA now apparently got some extra etc

Im not sure if we got anymore. think thats just rumours..... if you go to the BMW website it says that all the cars are sold.

Not 100% sure but the info i got from a friend that works for BMWSA is that it was originally 64 but it has been increased to a total of 71. (maybe we will get a few extra if production continues until end of Feb 2012.)
UK............450 confirmed
USA..........740 confirmed
The rest we will have to wait and see if there comes a list up somewhere.

thanks - that tallies with my info(incl re uk and us -and think Canada got +/-213 that is not in the 740 figure), except that SA apparently are now getting another 15.
My car still the only one Auto Atlantic ,one of the biggest dealers, ever got.

Love it (more than E92 M3, Cayman S and E60 M5 - my last 3 cars).
It`s a nice balance of the best aspects of E92 M3 and Cayman S (and in the real world it is quicker than both!

)

Very happy and since i've had it installed i have never put on the radio. The sound it makes is like music to your ears. It's an awesome sound and not even the sound clips are close to what it really sounds. It's not too noisy but just right.

Was told today that the total 1M for SA is 74.

Guys I confirm that the number of allocations for SA has been upped and they have already been allocated. I was reliably informed today by someone very high up in BMWSA that I have an approved allocation for April build with an estimated delivery in July/ August.....

Based on this information I can only deduce that cars might be built until June/July

Congrats hope you get one, the Coupe's and Convertibles of the current 1 series will be build till end of June but not the 1M as i have been told. Their production will end shortely due to upgrades for the new 1 series.

I have email correspondence from someone in BMWSA who determines what allocations each dealer in SA gets. He/she mentions that more cars are coming this year, although already allocated to buyers and that mine has a provisional build date of Mar/April. I would say he/she is more familiar with what they are getting from Germany than anybody else in the dealer network.

My dealer has just sent me a print out of the build confirmation for April build... I will be getting afterall.....

Congrats.....so by June you will have your baby.Did you spec your 1M or is it again a BMWSA spec 1M?

No, I was called in to spec it. A week or so later I was sent the build confirmation which shows the spec that I requested..

I also had a long wait but time flies, something to look forward. Great that you could spec your own car. Most of them BMWSA spec them so you either take it or someone else does.

Just got confirmation yesterday from BMWSA sales department that there are 72 1M to date in SA. They could not tell me the total that will be coming to SA.
