Manual 6spd folks: you gotta get this
I removed my ///Msport short shifter from my last E90 before I sold it. It was a sentimental thing since I bought it in Stuttgart and was 95% sure I'd get another E90 via Euro Delivery. When I went to pick up my car last week I took the shifter with me on the train up the coast to my dealer. I installed it in 2 minutes with no tools. I just didn't want to drive it with the stock shifter. It makes the shifting feel more natural and the leather boot smells great (much nicer than the stock boot).
If you want a quick reversible mod for a little over 100 bucks this is a great one.

sorry marcus, old news. already had my e90 m short shifter for 3 months. i thought u were going to show a new gear knob. some people claim to be able to mod the short shifter to make it illuminated- interesting but i don't think i have the technical skills to mod it even after reading the thread.

It was either a new set of tires or another vacation in Germany.....same price.

Or you can pick up the e46 ZHP knob or of the e46 M3 knob ... which I prefer since it doesn't have the "golf ball" leather.
And I'm sure making it illuminated wouldn't be any harder than it was in the e46, just find the right wire to tap. |

same knob... just aluminum instead of leather... Nikki, to answer your previous question... they are also weighted on top of being shorter. Much more precise shifts... |

I dont think it would look good. The base of the knob has a greater circumference than that of the E46 knobs as well as the stock E90 knobs. It would look a little strange (and my OCD would pick up on it in a heartbeat). Whats wrong with your E46 ZHP knob? I wasnt a big fan of the 'big butt' the knobs had on the even numbered side of the knob... Again... OCD... stupid details |
