Chronumn's 135i Build

Hi all,

I wanted to start documenting my cars build for myself and the forums to see.

This car is my daily driver which has taken over for my 09 miata which is now on track only duty.

I purchased this car locally for a great price in my opinion, it needed tires badly, brakes badly, and in serious need of a bath. This car was dirty, exterior and interior alike. The paint was stained with what looked like pollen of some sort. The color of the seats were very muted and the controls, steering wheel, shift knob, and e-brake were coated in a muck. Likely the case was the PO used lotion of some sorts and it rubbed off and baked onto the pieces. I was able to clean most of the car and replaced what needed to be replaced.

*I'll be updating this post with some DSLR pictures and videos*

First fill up pictures, nothing had been touched at this point, not even tints.

Next up was deep cleaning time

Here you can see the pollen in the paint and after on the right

These pictures give a good example of what a magic eraser + leather cleaner can do for dirty seats.

After cleaning the steering wheel it was obvious it was a little beat and will be replaced with an M3 wheel in the future.

I picked up some Performance goodies to replace some worn parts.

New sidemarker to replace the faded one and led bulbs look nicer in my opinion

Performance grills installed. I chose oem because I like the glossy outer rim + matte inner gills.

Time to address the headlights. This took a while.

New brakes that were desperately needed.

...aaaand tires, went with Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 racetrack oval brickyard bridgestone re0003 rebranded track performance wet dry summer great tires. They are great for daily driving with plenty of grip and I got the right sizing to fit the wheels perfectly.

Picked up some LUX v5? The color changing ones.

Before and After

Berk catless downpipe from a forum member, and new tranny fluid went in, no pictures sorry, I was excited. Picked up some pucks as well. The plugs are for a later date, had to order a plug socket for my ratchet.

I'll update with videos shorty

My dad came to town to visit which resulted in me taking the 135i (my daily) to the place where it was not supposed to go, the track.

The 135i performed great. I drove both cars that day and took video so I will post them shorty. Obviously the 135i can't hold a candle to my very well set up miata, but with some work it would obviously be a great car for the track, the brakes and tires on the car worked great. I didn't even have a chance to change the brake fluid since it was so last minute and it didn't even cook the brakes so something must be right there. I'd say for my set to be great I'd need a LSD, suspension and the car would be set. Aka a lot of money.

I apologize for vertical pictures.

Yes it did while I was being a little rough with it. I would only recommend it for DEEP cleaning needs. I use a leather brush that I bought off amazon now for monthly interior cleaning.

Here are some DSLR photos as promised. I need to get a nicer lens rather than the kit one I'm using here.

I forgot to grab a picture of my OEM rubber mats I purchased after cleaning them. Boring mod anyway.
