Dealer Allocations are out!
My dealer received their allocations and called me today to firm up my options from when I placed my deposit so he can place the actual order. I am number one on the list there and their allocation amount is 5 total and he did confirm ED goes against that so there would be no discount for ED. I also received calls from two other BMW dealers that just had me on their call waiting list because they would not take deposits. If you have not heard from your dealer, give them a call and let the real wait begin now that the actual order is in!

My order was supposedly placed on Friday, at least that is what my salesman tells me. I left a deposit last Wednesday but was on the dealers list as of last June. I was the first at the dealership to inquire about the One series. I'd love to know what their initial allocation is.

Joelk says:
is there some way to differentiate between dealers getting eager to firm up orders versus the dealers actually being able to place the orders? My dealer said the production numbers will be released next month, but the orders are required now. :drinking:

Again, the dealer that I actually placed my order with plus two others called me today asking if I wanted one of their initial allocations. My dealer only received 5 for this first allocation and has no idea when the next allocation or what the allocation quantity will be. He estimate a couple months though.

37, that is a lot. The dealership most be huge or that number is for all 1 series cars. I was told allocations are based on sales amounts.

I was just on the phone with my sales guy. he said that I can configure my car and email it to him and that I am #1 on there list But they have not received their allocations from BMW yet witch is expected in 2-3 weeks because the first run has a production date of february. so i don't think dealers can order cars yet but they may be taking orders on there expected allocations. and by the way my family and I have been dealing with this same sales guy and dealer for 12 years and he knows his product and hes a honest straight shooter

Spoke to a local dealer. They haven't gotten an allocation. They're expecting to hear something in the first week of January. Might be that the larger dealerships around the country are hearing about it first.

well paul miller claims they are the 3rd largest on the east coast... (could be bs) but they are the most popular one for NJ nyc ct area.
Dealer said the allotment is 5-7 in the first shipment and they also will be getting 2 m3's! still no production # yet from bmw germany...but the order is submitted!

The Way Allocation works is this... you are allocated a certain amount of cars based on your sales volume. Paul Miller would naturally get more cars than the dealer ranked # 254 in utah. That being said... lets use the number "10" If Paul miller has an allocation of 10 cars but only deposits for 1 red one 2 white ones and 2 black ones that means that they have to order five cars in addition to your five to equal "10" which meets their allocation. the dealers get together with the companies and decide by current trends what cars they should order due to expected demand. These things are linda like a science because should a dealer get them wrong he could be stuck with 10 "Leguna Seca Blue" M3's on his lot that he can't move and are taking up his floorplan because BMW won't give him more M3's because he hasn't sold the ones he currently has yet. Now he has to sell there new M3's at a discount and nobody wants to do that...Heres a lil advice on getting a deal on a car as well... Go to the largest volume dealership in your area and buy from them. #1 they will probably actually have the car you want vs another dealer offering a discount on a car you settle for. and #2 you can get a better deal look @ it this way. If dealer A sells 100 cars a month and dealer B sells 20 cars a month. dealer a can sell his cars for less becuase he makes his money by volume and dealer B Has to sell his cars for more in order to keep the lights on. But none of that will apply to the 135i because that car will sell for at or over sticker for a long time to come.
