Winter wheel/tire choice...

Some cross posting here...

I MIGHT go with a slightly lower profile and wider tire. 50 series is a little flexy for winters...

What about you?

I will probably go with 225/45 r17 because here in Boston, we only have a few days of really bad snow, with a lot of wet or dry roads. So a performance winter tire works well.

The sidewall is still the same height as a 205/50 r17, but it will have a bit more dry/wet grip.

Were thinking about a 205/45 r17 or a 225/40 r17 to get a truly shorter sidewall and smaller overall tire diameter? Obviously this would affect your speedometer, but not a problem otherwise (I think).

Fellow T-Dot guy here. I went 215/45/17. Should be fine for the winter.
