The move on the other hand is slowly but surely falling into place. Internet will finally be setup on thursday...electricity is finally up (jackstands at FPL forgot to hit the main meter breaker when they turned the power on). Sooo...don't want to jinx it...but Monday should be a fresh start in our new home!

Ok, not sure If I brought this up earlier about the M3 vented hood (smaller vents nearer the powerbump), but the only thing that concerns me is in rainy or even snowy weather, will rain drains down thru the vents and get on parts of the engine that werent meant to have rain on them? More specifically, say its during the winter time and water is seeping thru the vents and it freezes, u end up with icicles down thru the vents..just not sure if this is anything necessary to worry bout or not. I dont live in Cali or florida where the weather is mostly nicer, so...
Im just trying to picture whats directly underneath the vents on this hood. For instance, I have a ER chargepipe/BOV stead of the factory DV setup, and I dun think itd be very good if there was water draining down and landing on the BOV while in use. Or any other part of the engine for that matter. Somebody give me some specifics or something to put my mind at ease with this, I figure the vents are a little further up from where my chargepipe is but I have no idea. I remember Andy or Chris saying somewhere before you have closed and open vents for this hood you can simply install on the inside of the hood which would be good. Dunno, Im considering this, the diffuser, and the rear spoiler for early next spring since Im modded out financially for right now. |

You can have open or closed vents and swapping them out is easy.
The open vents are probably fine but to put you at rest take the 5 min and switch them out in bad weather.

Hmm, im curious as to how the changeable vents install..are they clipped into the open slot or need they be drilled in? Cuz obviously you cant tell of any screws or mount points from the pics they have up.
