Powdercoating and painting are two different things.

Looks like you guys have a great list of potential buyers just don't expect a huge discount. I know many group buys usually give 5-10% off the retail. I guess a saving is a saving though and a great exchange always helps.
Also keep in mind that these are probably best to be installed by a professional mechanic or at least someone that knows what they are doing. As some of you know it is a #%^* of a job installing downpipes on our cars. Install costs will run anywhere between $400-$600.
Look forward to seeing more of you guys with DP's soon.

we're going off topic here lol, but 650 seems kinda expensive.

I'm shopping around right now for a quote to get my girlfriend's 18" wheels powdercoated, got one quote for 300cash for all 4 but I reckon I can get better...

Powdercoating and painting give different finishes as well... painting is a bit more expensive, usually 200 each wheel but powdercoating sometimes gives problems with alloy wheels as they might 'gas-off' (the powdercoat tech used this term) when the wheels are heated.

I'd be interested also (pending price) if there's no problem throwing an N55 DP into the mix.

Did i give the impression that they're the same? I merely suggested a ceramic coating company which some members were after. Then thought i'd also take the opportunity to inform Joe of their powdercoating abilities (he asked in another thread about powdercoating/painting).

$300 is what i paid at mr clean 2 years ago. $50-60 per wheel is achievable for sandblasting and powdercoating from less reputable companies though...

Candy paint isnt cheap. Especially 3 layers worth. Maybe its only me that sees the value in it...

Talked to Andrew@southernbm and see what he can cook up for us locally. AR design gave me a generic reply but still hasn't gotten back to me yet...

Even a 10% discount would be nice.

Yes but you've cleared it up now.

Incredible the amount of interest this thread has bought in. I am surprised. AR catless DP's fit and are very good quality. I have used and continue to recommend. The AA catless downpipes have a small issue with installation for RHD's. You will all require a tune of some sort if you go catless DP's as well and will fail most emission testing as you are removing 2 cats from the car. Jeef has asked i join in here, but i'm not sure what i can help with. Not much i can do with pricing or else i would have already passed this on to you all. If i order say 20 sets, then i would be charged customs and duties on all those units making the total pricing higher. This might be worth doing for yourselves and get the units shipped individually? This is the same issue i had with the boost guages. Let me know if i can help though..

All good dude, all good, I worked out what you meant afterwards ;-)

I'm doing an ITIL V3 education course online and my eyes are going square, that's why my reading comprehension sucked.

Thanks for the input mate, looks like we'll need to work it out with AR directly...

What price are you able to give us individually?

What is vitally important here is that you talk about it! I am sure the dollar will improve vs the USD and that your car will get better with age. Do not rush in here.

P.S. I paid $858 in June 2010 for my AR downpipes (catless) with black satin ceramic coating
