Hi All,

I have the agreement from Andrew @ AR deisgn, just trying to work out the exact costs, that's why i am a little slow to respond.

The offer from AR design is that you can have 10% off the price of the catless downpipes if we get 10 people to participate. Now the current price for the N54 is $799 USD. The Group buy price is $729USD.

The same discount would apply if there are any N55 owners wishing to participate. 10% of the price on the AR Design website.

I have no data to verify if these fit 1M, i assume they would though.

So example,
N54 Catless downpipes $729USD
Ceramic coating , say Satin Grey $159USD
Shipping $110USD Per package.
I am currently working out the bank transfer charges and the cheapest alternative available. I should know soon.
I am currently working out what your price in AUD will be, as you will be getting a tax invoice from me, it will have to include GST.
Note->Pricing for N55 is different from above example.

The way this would work is that you will order through me- SouthernBM, i will provide a tax invoice and accept payment in advance for the product. Payment can be via Bank deposit or paypal, (Credit card only for those that come in to the shop to sign the docket receipt) I will provide local support, answer in questions at anytime via email, private message, SMS, work phone number or mobile phone. So you will be able to pay locally and ask any questions locally. I will keep you informed by email, phone or on the forum regarding your tracking numbers and the estimated time of shipping from payment to delivery, (Usually 3-4 weeks from payment). The goods will be shipped from AR design directly to your door. You will not be subject to customs duty or any additional charges from what we stipulate, in the very near future, to be your final AUD buy price.

So if you wish to wait maybe a day or 2 to get the final price then we could start the list going for people who wish to participate?

The products you are buying are Catless downpipes for N54 from AR Design

LINK

The kit includes Catless Downpipes, gaskets and mounting bolts, all required for the install. I have used these before for N54 and yes they do fit RHD 135i's.

OR

Catless Downpipes for N55-I haven't installed previously-LINK

Notes- (A) If you run Catless Downpipes on your car you are effectively removing some of the catalytic convertors from your vehicle. You will be required to run some tune solution to remove any O2 related codes. The options you have are an ECU flash tune, JB3 range of piggy back products or Procede piggy back computer. These tuning solutions, although i can provide, are not part of this offer.
(B)If you decide to use this product, you should be aware that this is sold as an off road use product. These products would not meet your legal requirements for public road use and may adversely effect the drivability or reliability of your vehicle. It may also effect your insurance or factory BMW warranty.

I can supply installation services for these downpipes for $330 for N54, no idea for N55. I can also provide you with any of the deals i am currently doing for 135i's. (ie-Interior kit bundles, CSL wheel packages, Staged tune kits, Quaife LSD's, HPF Intercoolers, actually anything 135i)

The interstate people who wish to get install down here, i have spoken to Quest Apartments in Moorabbin which is a brand new establishment about possible discounts. (I have one customer down from Newcastle tonight that is staying there, while we do his car) I will go and see them again, if anyone is interested.

I can supply and install Procede, update firmware/maps or enable the Procede 02 for N54, (I haven't done an N55 procede yet) or supply an ECU flash tune for upgraded downpipes with install of these downpipes. I have no hands on knowledge of JB products but i am sure someone in Melbourne could come over and help out any forum member who requires help with there JB products for map changes or 02 set ups.

ok, I think that is it for now.

How does that sound? Am i close?

Please give feedback, greatly appreciated.

P.S I am a paying vendor here, just through M3post and there is no option for 1 addicts vendor status. I have authority to post this sort of thing here.

I paid $858. $729 + 159 = $888. Plus bank fees plus GST of 10%. So minimum of $980, depending on transfer fees.

AR Design can do better.

Andrew, am I reading it right. Could be just me having trouble reading on the iPhone but wouldnt our 10% discount essentially be negated by the charge of gst by you?

Andrew, thanks heaps for organising this for us Aussies. The fact that you can provide local support is a very good selling point.

THIS however has me uncertain though...can AR really not do any better with this many of us buying?

When you purchased the price was $729 USD, that price is no longer available. They now sell them at $799.

Thanks Jeef for the kind words, just doing my best to help the community. I did state at the start that i was not sure what i could do to help though....

Re Discount- That was AR design's offer. I do not believe there are any discounts normally available for AR product. i looked online briefly and didn't see any?? Could be wrong.

If Kenny was able to get them for 729 a year ago I would've thought they could offer the same price with a group buy discount.

Still I'm sure everyone appreciates your effort in getting in touch with them. We'll definitely await a final price and see what everyone wants to do from there.

The US economy is fucked. No way is AR Design rushing these puppies out the door. Go somewhere else for the group buy.

OOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW you're a cunning business man at his finest andrew. Don't worry because I am too. Anybody can purchase a set of AR catless downpipes from Burger Motorsport for $729 which is listed on their website and in stock. Also Terry offers shipping for the downpipes for $90. That's a total of $819 USD. Gravity Auto Sports have the AR's for $699 and I bet I can find them even cheaper. I know this is your business andrew but seriously you know you can do a hell of a lot better.

Agreed Kenny. I know these forum members can get a good deal and I just don't want them to pay more than they really should.

Yeh at the end of the day, DPs ARE just that = pipe

There's a guy on the lancer forums that designed some headers, got them made up in Singapore and sells them for like $400 or something. Quality was fantastic.

With regards to the Ceramic coating, I can get them Ceramic coated locally in Sydney for approx $100 a pair if I bring a few sets to him.

Ok, you give me too much credit, JB4135. If i want a product i ask the person who makes it, not some other reseller. I just rang AR design and they are going to ask those companies why they have not updated there websites to current pricing, he thinks that those companies have simply not updated there data. AR design will contact those vendors right now.

Blackonblack-----i did that a few years back and people like WAY would know the crap i went through for that. I did have them made, Actually i still have several sets made if you want them, no guarantee they will fit as they were pretty hit and miss, but JB4135 doesn't seem to mind as he has AA downpipes and they don't fit properly but must be up to his standard?. So happy if you want to buy the ones i had made, probably got 8 sets of catted ones that don't fit at all, and not sure how many catless, maybe 5 sets left. I do have a second hand set off a 135i that does fit, (very tightly) They cost me tens of thousands and now are collecting dust.

The AR design down pipes are really very very nice, the fitment is perfect, the design is fantastic and i have never had one issue with them.

P.S I am more than happy to not get involved here on this....Jeef asked for me to participate, thats all.

My AA do fit perfectly as far as the pipe alignment goes as I told you in a pm earlier this year Andrew it was one of the 02 bungs that had to be relocated. All catless downpipes have the same issue except the AR's (so were told).
Aren't you an AA dealer anyway Andrew.
Like I said your really not doing anyone a favor here, it's your business and you wanna make some moola out of it. I understand completely and it's ok with me.

Don't think AA would like you talking about their downpipes as a low standard product (don't try telling me you weren't). The AA's and AR's are almost identical.

Hey guys, SouthernBM are on OUR side! Andrew can't help it if AR Design in the USA are being greedy on this deal.

Ok thanks Andrew.

I don't know how it can go wrong replicating a product. When I had my workshop I did something similar. Zapped together a jig of the original and had my fabricator make and make, and all was good. Guys I also have a contact in China that will make to exact spec in bulk orders. Just gotta send an original over. Good quality China not the cheap stuff as well!

I like the way you think.
I have an image somewhere of the AR downpipe jig (don't ask me how). Will look for it later today.
