1M's available

Hey all, just thought I'd let you know I had an email today from Westside BMW saying they have a Black 1M available for immediate delivery.

I also drove past Brisbane BMW yesterday and saw a VO 1M in the used department advertised for a fair price of... $128,000.

I didn't really follow any of the pricing threads on the 1M. Generally what was the drive away $$$ that people were paying?

That VO 1M has been there for a few days. Westside has a new BSM 1M for sale too.

Seems like there has been plenty of opportunities to buy the 1M for the folks that missed out.

Are dealers legally not allowed to sell above RRP here? These overpriced cars (~130k) can only be good for our resales

Ditto new cars, within reason, Supply versus Demand.

Dealers bump up their Dealer Delivery charges, whilst leaving the factory List Price as RRP, nonetheless the on-road price is well and truly inflated as a result.

I recall that there were Polo GTi's not that long ago that had $6-7k DD added to the price of a $29,990 car, then there was the Demo cars that existed with VW dealers that had ~1000ks on them that were listed as RRP, ie you want it, you pay.

These cars are not that highly sought after any longer as had a very small target market.

EDIT:
That said, I met a bloke at the track this week who had a brand new 135 DCT ... he was pissed, as he paid $96k on-road. He thought the 1M was around $130k on-road, not $110k
well it is a DCT

I wonder if someone would put a DCT into a 1M? More likely in EU or US I guess.

135i now at 96k is a bit much. Mine was optioned up and I paid less than that when it there were virtually no discount at that time.

They are great bits of gear but aren't going to be a future classic in the sense of being "worth money" otherwise the CSL M3's would have held better value with 23 odd sold compared with 200 ish.

Sadly, if Ferrari is anything to go by, you may be right. Many of us will always cherish our proper gearboxes however. I wonder if Porsche will ever give up MT?

$130,000 Australian dollars is how much in US dollars? I always knew Australia had high import duties on cars but this is a bit ridiculous. How come citizens there don't vote to have lower duties so you get to drive more fun cars? A 1M was about $55,000 or so brand new. People have tried to sell then for as much as $80,000 but at that price, you can easily buy a new 135i, tune it and build out the suspension to be even better the 1M and still not even be close to the same price.

True but there will be one DCT 1M in time mate. At the rate they mod their cars, someone in the EU or US would want to be the unique first and can't be more unique than a DCT 1M. I'm actually surprised we haven't seen one after 12 months.

Ian, I have heard rumors Porsche MT will go the way of the dodo in the 991 GT3/2 cars, it, my friends, is the way of the performance car future.

Economy ++
Around a track/straight line ++

Merc AMG cars AFAIK don't have manuals at all, Ferrari as mentioned, the new RS4 is an 8 speeder I think, even the polo GTiis DSG only (f it).

So who else wants a 997 GT3............. MANUAL?

I think 991 will be 7MT, at least I bloody well hope so. As Ian mentioned, favourite thing about Porsche is that you can still buy a stripper in MT!

Always want a 997 GT3!
