Sunshade options
What are the best sunshade options out there? I did look on the forum but it seems some of the ones recommended are no longer available.
Thoughts? I am probably going to get one but still have to modify it anyway. (I have windshield mounts) If it matters, I have a convertible. |

When I did research on them a couple years ago I decided on the Covercraft UVS100. A little more expensive (around $75 with bag and shipping) but I've been pretty pleased.

Covercraft is the manufacturer for most branded sunshades out there. I usually buy the genuine BMW sunshade which is made by Covercraft.
Here's the best price I've found lately: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |

I remember seeing someone on here that had like a mesh shade for the side windows as well that were perfectly fit to our cars. Anyone know where to get those as well?

I have a Covercraft also but opted for the non BMW OEM version. Paid $49 on Amazon for mine.
As for the mesh shades for the side windows, I have those too. Those are OEM BMW accessories which I seem to recall there being low or no stock now on these. In addition to the side windows, there's one for the rear window too which I also have. I'll see if I can dig up the part numbers. |

Yep. Love that I don't have to worry about tint and they're easily removable. The only slight gripe I have with them is how much light they block at night which affects the effectiveness slightly of the auto dimming side mirrors with some jerk with high beams on. Also the rear shade does affect some visiblity. But it's definitely manageable.

I'm not particularly interested in those anyway, it seems like it'd be a pain to use since I put the top down every time I drive the car. |

Regarding the OEM windshield sunshade, I find the BMW lettering a little obnoxious (my opinion only) and would rather get a plain one, even if it costs a few bucks more.
The side and rear sunshades popup on here every once in a while. I have them as well and bought them used on the forum. Well worth it. I skipped the tint because of them and run them year round. They don't really wear either. I haven't noticed any fading either after the last 4-5 years. |

Then Covercraft is your answer. Go to their site. It's the same as the "Genuine BMW" one but no logo. I've had a Covercraft for my E46 for 4 years. It doesn't show any signs of wear with use every day for 8 months of the year. Don't bother with the bag. It stays folded nicely. I will be buying one for my E82 as well.

I just bought this one last week off of eBay and it's amazing! It's just as the picture shows and for 12 bucks you can't beat it I promise! Plus once it's folded up you can slide it right I between your seat and arm rest for sto and easy access!
http://m.ebay.com/itm/For-BMW-Front-...257Ciid%253A16 Hopes this helps and for the price it's worth a shot! I drive a 2011 convertible. |

I have the BMW brand. It's nice and works. However it's not a snug fit by any means. You'll have a inch - 2 inch gap around the edge.

I have the oem BMW one that folds. It's solid, but it's also heavy and over time it removed the rubberized coating from the corners of the nav screen.
