I've got StopTech slotted sport rotors, they look great, are quiet. But they are heavy as hell, and the black coating along the vent exhausts turns white after track day levels of heat.

As for pads, I'm running the OEM pads for the F30 335i calipers I have. They work surprisingly well on-track, are quiet and bite-y on the street, but the dust levels are stupid, and you'll probably only get two weekends out of them. (Based on wear in 15-degree weather...)

My next set is likely to be Cool Carbon S/T Plus'. I've read some really positive reviews, all complementing their low dust levels, strong initial bite, and excellent fade resistance (compared to OE). Everyone seems to love Cool Carbons...

Check Amazon for prices. Might be cheaper. Comments on Amazon are mixed about brake improvement. Some say no change, some say better. I just installed EBC Red Stuff pads and slotted rotors on my Audi TT and the improvement is incredible and no dust after break-in. Find the best price on Amazon and then call EBC and they will match it. Go with Yellow Stuff if you plan to race but they might squeal a bit.

On my 128i:

Centric blanks (the "premium" kind with painted hats and vents)

Stoptech Street Performance pads

RockAuto has consistently better prices than Amazon in my experience, but it's wise to cross-check before buying.

I got a set of OEM pads and rotors sitting in my garage waiting to install. If they warp early again I will go in a different direction.

+1. Not gonna skimp on brakes. OE BMW or BBK, RB is a nice in between, though I recognize not for everyone.

That's an okay way to go...

And what if you don't wanna go when you need to stop?

My order of upgrades was this Wheels/Tires > Suspension/Handling > Brakes > Power > Fine-Tuning. I have a while until it's my time, and brakes are highly fashionable. 340mm rotors look ridiculous with 17"s!

try fcpeuro.com. They have the bmw performance rotors, which is what I use now. I warped the stock rotors at Lime Rock after 3 sessions, didn't want aftermarket stuff, and so far I'm really happy with them. After two track days, they still look good, and aren't warped. Yes, you will spend considerably more then the ebay garbage in your link, but you will also stop, as an added bonus (which doesn't seem high on the priority list for you). So with that being said, lets back into this-- how much do you want to spend, so that we can give you an opinion on whats best for the money?

FCPEuro is a great place to buy parts, especially with the warranty they offer. Not sure if it applies to brake-wear parts, but if it does, then it's a surefire deal if you want OE BMW stuff.

I think every consumable they sell can be exchanged as long as you keep the receipt and original packaging, but you won't be able to exchange for a different brand of the same part (exchanging OE pads for Cool Carbons, etc.).

But, even though that's extremely convenient, and a brilliant marketing strategy, their aftermarket catalog is less expansive than some...

I mean.. if the money is justified ill spend it..
if I see slotted rotors from joe blow.. but they'll warp or bust in under 10k miles than ill double the money for some better product..
I don't track.. I just street race every now and again.. so , 1400 for some brakes and rotors..is a bit much.... if theirs no inbetween that will meet my needs I guess ill have 2 spend the 1400..
what I was trying to get a feel for was aftermarket in the range (or a little over) compared to oem..

FWIW, rotors 'warp' from improper cool-down. Running hot laps and then pulling off and parking, the rotor and pad is still at temp. That heat is concentrated in that one place on the rotor and that is where the 'warp' comes from.
After the hard laps you should do a few laps with no braking to cool the pads and rotors. If you have poor airflow, do more laps.

Don't park with hot brakes!

I have no issues with the Stop Tech Slotted rotors. They have held up to numerous slow downs and stops from 140mph+. The blanks I was on (same pad) would get hot and loose friction. But I also did a fluid change at the same time.

I'm running,
Bosch DOT 5.1 brake fluid
ECS braided brake hoses
Stop Tech slotted rotors
Stop Tech sport pads

On a high speed track with good balance of speed and brake zones I have no problems.
