Sorry to hear about this mate. Hope it all gets sorted by the insurance company sharpish.

I've not posted on here for quite some time as mine got nabbed back at Easter. Some wankers broke into my flat just steal the car keys essentially. That was bloody irritating!

Sorry to hear the news Essco, but at least you walked away, that's the main thing.

Most insurance companies now use a 70% write off margin, so I doubt your car will be written off with 'only' £10k damage.

Good luck with the insurance company though, I know they can be complete gits!

Got the news this afternoon that the insurance company will pick up the tab. Car is going to be in the garage for a month.

Been given a lovely Pug 107 1 litre for a temp replacement car

Glad the car is being sorted out, can't wait to get it back.

Few scratches, back is stiff as hell after the crash, but all ok cheers everyone

Good to hear that insurance is going to sort it. And that you're in one piece!

Nope, never recovered unfortunately. My insurance lot were very good in general and it was all sorted within a month of the theft pretty much.

It's always a bummer when you do any damage to your car, no matter how small. Even worse when someone else does it, I can understand your rage.

So I took a trip down to the workshop to see how they were getting on with the repairs. I didn't realize to what extent they had stripped it back.

See pic.

The car is on a jig to see how out of alignment the frame was, luckily it wasn't but the passenger wheel arch took most of the damage. It's been cut away and is waiting for a new part. Got another 3 weeks at least to wait before it's driveable again.

It's hard to see from this pic that it will ever be the same again! Ah well..

I am going to hedge my bet that it will be. The garage foreman went through the endless list of replacement parts (3 pages) so what should come out the other end is practically a new car.

Garage loaned me a brand new 116D for a few weeks while it's repaired. What a difference to the crap 107 I was given as a loan car before. Forgot just how econimical diesels are and it's quite nippy....
