Thanks guys.

Follow up appointment at the eye doc tomorrow. Hopefully there won’t be any more dremeling of my eye. Here’s the tool the doc uses to do it.

And I can’t wait to see it done either. I’m at a bit of a stop currently until I procure the trunk lid. Want to make sure the gaps are as perfect as I can get them before I weld.

This looks promising. We'll see.

I'm kind of dead in the water on the rear of the car until I have the trunk lid. Ordered 12/12/18. Only response from Revozport has been through Instagram.

Haven't heard anything from them since Sunday.

They’re heeeere.

Hood and trunk finally arrived March 6th. A planned vacation and other distractions have kept me out of the garage since then.

This weekend should be productive. (I hope)

Couple more pics

Seems a bit of a shame to paint these. They’re awful pretty.

Hi!

How did you attach the roof bow to the car?
I am in the same position as you, but it seems that there are missing adapters

Because it doesnt look right like that

That’s the wrong roof bow you’re looking at. It’s number four that we’re playing with.

Check out these pics of a 1m in the body shop with damage to the roof. You can see that there are no brackets there

Last two pics are of the right side of my car viewed from the top and bottom to show correct tab placement. I still need to pry up the little tab in the center and bend it around. But you get the idea of how it goes.

Sunday afternoon

Had some time Sunday. Test fit of the trunk lid. And then tweeking around messing with gaps and adjusting the trunk hinges.
At this point I’m basically weld-ready. Once it’s welded, dare I say; I’m finished with the most difficult part of the conversion. Still plenty more work to do tho.

Getting close

Quarters are locked down and ready to weld/bond.

Test fit of the lights and playing with trunk hinge adjustment.

Roof bow is painted and weld prepped. I’ll weld it in with the resistance welder when I’m doing the quarters.

Quarters on!

On and tacked up. Bonded at the wheel well. Lip rolled, etc. That’s my friend Chris doing the finessing.

Seams

Welded up the seams. Took all day. Moving around to different areas and letting everything cool before welding more. We don’t want any warpage now do we? Need to come back and grind. But, I’m very pleased with the way it’s going.

Nice job keeping your head in the game for such a long term project....on your trunk lid paint it body color except for space around license plate.. I did that to mine and it looks great.

Thanks. I’ve had plenty of distraction. And to be fair, laziness. I’m back on it now though. The weather here is nice and all the parts are in hand.

As for the trunk; That’s exactly the plan. No duckbill trunklid tho.

Field trip

Took the car in to do the resistance welds this morning. The machine takes three phase power. So, obviously not something I can do in my garage.

It started right up and drove onto the trailer no problem. I was a bit surprised considering that it’s been sitting for such an embarrassingly long time.

Back home now

Resistance welds done.

I’m very excited to be so close to completing the back half of the car. I definitely jumped into the deep end first on this project.

These pics are just after I’d backed it off the trailer into the driveway.
