Front end Clank'ing under breaking
2010 135i....i put new rotors and pads (hawk) on all 4 corners. not soon after i noticed a metal-on-metal clanking noise as i start breaking. sometimes it is right as i initiate brake, or sometimes it is 2 seconds after braking. Definately sounds like something coming to rest against something else. I've had it looked at twice by the shop that did the work. No avail.
Oddly, every time i jack up the front end (both sides) it will stop for a day and then return. Thoughts? THANKS! |

My akebonos clunk in the front. Almost always when I reverse out of a parking spot and brake. I hear it when at low speeds and press the pedal.
Contacted support, they told me their backing plate is slightly smaller than OEM. It shifts right when the pads engage and you hear it clunking. Yours is probably the same. I found no fix besides changing out for different pads from a diff manufacturer.
