New BMW bluetooth option?
Does anyone know anything about this? How does it get wired? Is it integrated in any way with the CiC?

Looks like options SA 609 (NAV), SA 633 or SA 644 (phone pre-wiring) are still needed

yea it seems like any retrofit parts you get needs you to go to BMW dealer to program. i guess thats how they make more $$$ off you.My best bet is if you want the BT feature, get an aftermarket BT. I saw one on tv where you just clip the BT component on the side visor and every time you step into the car your BT activates and is wirelessly connected to your car speaker. So from that, i would guess the microphone is on the BT component. |

In comparison, you will be getting OEM Bluetooth and iPod adapter functionality with this mObridge adapter for those $849 plus coding charges. Installation is pretty much plug in. |

Let's also add a ULF that can be updated as new phones are released (among other features) rather than a mULF that cannot be updated.
Those that have owned e46s in the past will know how valuable this is. MY09/CiC compatibility is coming soon.

There are other BT solutions for $200 or less that work pretty well, but I wish that they would develop some type of plug and play module for about half what the mObridge goes for.

But with the E9x and the E82 BMW went the route of making a nice way of retrofitting whatever you want OEM just absurd, so most of the OEM retrofits have to be coded into the MOST ring or they won't work at all. Either way -mObridge or TCU- you will be spending over $1000 for OEM integration... unless you want to go used parts, find an OEM harness somewhere if your car does not have it and install everything yourself. And still you will be in the $500-$600 range depending on how much you pay for the parts and doing the installation yourself. So, at the end of the day a $29.95 Bluetooth headphone works too if that's what you are looking for. |

That's what I'm using now and seems to be the best option at this point!
