are the standard stereos on the 135 still supplied with the dual subs under the seats or is that only reserved for the $875 Premium Audio Upgrade?

ok i was just under the impression that if you had the dual subs underneath the seats that the car had the Premium upgraded radio. So if this is the case and he doesn't have the Premium stereo, then this "standard" radio is very powerful for a Non Premium as it almost sounds identical to the Premium in my car. I remember back earlier last year when you built online the 135 and opted for the navi the premium stereo upgrade would automatically get selected. Does anyone remember this or could it have been a glitch on my end as i remember building it several times and would have to uncheck it to check the price configurations. I noticed now that when you go build a 135 and select navi for some reason the Hi Definition option now gets automatically selected instead. Any thoughts??
Reason i asked is his window sticker was destroyed when they delivered his car and now he doesn't know whether he's got the premium sound

Didn't like my E46 Harmon, my wife's 120D's standard sounds better. Didn't order them this time round.

I like the sound of the 10 speakers in my 09 e88 (cabriolet). I have the base audio which has 25W for the 4 sets of upper range speakers and 40W for each of the two 8 inch subs. I do not listen to music real loud so this is plenty of power for me. I also used a CD with tones on it to check the frequency response. I was surprised that there is pretty good base all the way to 25 Hz. Bass level is about 3 db higher than mid range frequencies too. The bass seems less powerful than in some other cars (noticably a recent Avalon rental) but that is due to the other systems being boomy. I was a little dsappointed to find some holes in the mid to upper frequencies. For accurate reproduction, new speakers or an equalizer would be necessary.
If you, like me, are looking for an accurate system to play reasonably loud (loud enough you can't talk over it but not painful or objectionable to people outside your car) or less, I think the base 10 speaker system is enough. The premium adds more power and presumably better speakers. I haven't listened or measured it so I can't comment on its accuracy. Jim

I have to say that for $875 the HK system in the 1 is just okay. For the most part it is worth it, but I am comparing the HK system on my New 128i to the premium auido system in my 2008 528xi and it's night and day. The system in the 528 blows the HK system on the 1 right out of the water. Yes there is a decent amount of low end and volume, but no matter how I EQ it the high end clarity is just not there. The logic 7 processing isn't as robust either. I'm glad I got it because the base system on the 1 is really only suited to listening to talk radio, but I have to say that I am disapointed to say the least.

I am not expecting much from this system cause I had a aftermarket SQ one in my previous car, if I get fed up with the SQ which I doubt (chasing home audio quality in a car is painful and expensive) what experts recommend is a bitone audio processor and they can tune it really good without messing with the idrive or any internals of the car.
One thing I am disappointed about with these systems is they dont have "DTA", delaying the speakers so all the sound reaches the driver at the same time, but a BitOne can do this, aparently it can make a stock system sound like an expensive system with professional tuning. So I am not fused with this HK system.

If I am reading the specs right, I think the BitTEN (which costs half the price of the BitONE) will actually have everything you need if you are not adding more channels of amplification.
