The 0-30 is only available in litres at about $14.00 and never goes on sale, while the 0-40 is available in 5 litre jugs and on sale is about 1/2 the price. Both weights are approved according to my owner's manual.
Then you have old stock of the 0W40. Stock up while you can.

Well, I'm thinking no need to stock up really since it looks like only the markings on the container have changed, not the oil itself although I have no proof of that. As stated above, if it was good then, it's good now with or without LL01 markings. Edit: Stocking up may have been good advice after all as my usual source (Canadian Tire) has discontinued the GC 0-40 at least in 5 ltr. jugs. Got enough for the next change but thinking it's over to Motul after that.

I'm probably going down the same path but have 2 oil changes of older 0W-40 worth on hand so have a while to decide.

What I've read is the 0W-40 is better than the Edge 5W-40 as it has higher PAO content. The problem with that conclusion is the data sheets for the 0W-40 are from 05.2018 and maybe it's changed since.
