Low traction situations are always fun! It makes winter so gre-oh...wait...you don't do the winter thing in your car . JK! Your car looks very nice (and probably less grimey than mine underneath), and it looks like you guys had fun, and that is what's important after all.

Goes well with the black paint and chrome colored window trim.

Today I reinstalled my JB4 for Gauges-only operation.

I've been running MHD only for about a month, but I really missed the auto DTC disable on startup the AVG Ign gauge and 'my oil's up to temperature' indicator flash ... so it went back in.

How much did they want for it? Hardly ever see actual is's with 6 speeds on sale -- 9/10 times they are auto's or not an is.

Drove 3 hours to get mine last year, wasn't even really shopping for an is specifically but the car has been amazing (albeit overpriced).

I don't think I do. Last year I sold a lot of headlight equipment. But let me check today and make sure.

Ripped off the front plate and mount. Front plates are hideous haha.

Taking it to the body shop today to have all the little imperfections corrected and the front bumper holes fixed

Went for a drive in Angeles Crest with two buddies yesterday. I tried to set up a little LA cruise, but we ended up changing the time repeatedly, so glad no one from here committed. Friend #1 has the M2C, friend #2 has the AMG GTS.

The snow and rain in LA destroyed the roads in Angeles Crest, they were closed maybe 8 miles up, we only got 1/3rd of the way to Newcombs. We're doing Malibu next, I'll post details for anyone interested in joining. We didn't have enough time for pictures, too much traffic killed the majority of our drive, I'll bring the GoPro and DSLR next time.

For anyone curious, the GTS friend has had the following:
1st gen nsx, r35 gtr, 2 911's, a boxster, M5, S4 and the AMG. Says he prefers the 911's by far, is thinking of swapping cars with the high end car sales company he works with.

Oh, and I also got a dyno, and the numbers were a bummer. I'll start another thread for the dyno, hoping others start dyno'ing more often (n55 guys) so we can get more data on the best combos. I had a MASSIVE brain fart and forgot my monitoring tool, and EAS doesn't monitor anything other than whp/torque/rpm. I almost went home when I realized I forgot it, but it was a 45 minute drive. I basically set 125$ on fire, but I had my two year old daughter with me and she had a GREAT time, brought her Cars toys and was mimicking my car on the dyno. I have a couple videos and pics of the day.

I made 316whp and 391 ft/lbs. I think there may be some small issues to look at, I blame our CAN gas for part of this. I went to SPEEDLOGIC right after just to chat about some other unrelated stuff since I was in the area. Rob said he'd expect to see about 330whp with my setup, but there are a ton of variables when running on a dyno. I'm going to log sometime this week and see what's what, I have a feeling I'm pulling timing in 4th gear. I'd expect peak whp to be a bit higher than 4850 rpm, but the n55 is an odd motor.

In short, CAN gas is worse than ebola and it's time for Methanol!!!

Too bad about the roads. Yeah, I think all the rain has really done a thing out here. But we needed it, though. Think we're officially out of the drought, for now. lol

Your friend (friend #2) has had some fun cars. Would love to try out a 1st gen NSX one day. Have to look in to that sometime. Maybe a company like Turo.

Swapped in a 135i gauge cluster to get an oil temp gauge and higher redline (since I have mine set to 7200, might bump that to 7500). Soldered the 128i cluster's EEPROM to the 135i one because it was the same model #. Programmed it with PerfektToolbox and it works perfectly!

No one told me I'd actually be able to see which tire was low now! Before I only saw a big TPMS logo

I'll hopefully be hopping on the dyno soon. I'm similarly modded. The HP looks a little low, but the torque seems right? I'm Cobb stage 2 with the same bolt ons and I was hoping for 330/380

I'm debating swapping the exterior window trim to the shadow line. I have a wrap kit but I want the full black gloss parts. The larger trim and window section come off easy but the smaller corner window section is held on by 3M body tape. need to remove it carefully with fishing wire.

I just bought an entire complete black headliner from a blown engine M-sport but I may keep the chrome exterior trim.

If the car was made today, it sorta looks like it would have come from the factory with that combo of chrome trim accents.

I have the Shadowline exterior trim and think it looks great with my LeMans Blue paint. Also have the Anthracite headliner which goes with my black leather.

Think I actually prefer the chrome trim with black paint. My opinion...

The contrast really sets-off the Hoffmeister kink and the unique window profile of the 1'er. Dark colored 1's look best with the polished trim, and light colored 1's look best with the shadowline trim. LeMans Blue is as dark as I'd go and still be happy with the shadowline since it pops so nicely in the sunlight. I don't like fully blacked-out cars...they look cool when they're polished and perfectly clean, but, one speck of pollen or dust makes it instantly look like a beat old Civic with peeling clear coat (a smidge of exaggeration).

Have any of you M3 style hood guys done anything about the vents and rain? I didn't even think about it at first but it's pouring here right now lol has it been safe for you or should I get some kind of cover on it? I have DCIs

Looking forward to seeing it in Signal Green. Is that still what you're going with?

Timely question!

I'm just about to install mine and it's a concern. I don't think it's an issue on the DCI side - there seems to be a pretty clear path for the water to go over the hoses and back to the ground. A bit of water on your air filters isn't going to cause any harm. (It might mean they get dirtier quicker since it turns dust to mud).

I'm really worried about the other side. I prefer to run with the engine cover off to keep my coils slightly cooler - but I don't think that'll be an option any more with the Seibon hood since those vents seem to be directly above all the electrical wiring for injectors, coils & plugs.

I'm wondering if I can cut a piece of perspex to sit directly below the vent grille and secure it to the underside of the hood.

You could probably take a little aluminum sheeting and make a drainage duct that empties backwards into the wiper cowl. It would take a little experimentation to get fitment just right, and possibly some cutting of the cowl panel, but it would be tidy, and you wouldn't be trapping water (which is probably acidic in urban areas) on your nice new CF hood. My biggest concern with installing a vented hood like these would be water dripping onto the exhaust manifold and causing it to crack.
