Who wants to do a Denver rally this summer?
As the title says, I'm looking to do a run in the foothills sometime this summer. I'm flexible on dates and routes, wanted to see who else would be interested.
So far, its me, gorm35, and jasoncsu. |

Any one up for say the weekend of the July 13th? And I say we do kind of what we did last year, Meet in Westminster and take highway 36 through Boulder, up to Lyons, then to Estes Park. From there, head south on highway 7, then on highway 72 through Coal Creek Canyon out to highway 93

Pikes Peak or Bust!
Here is another idea. I admit it is a bit of a stretch but I think it would be a fun way to end the summer. Let’s have our own scenic drive through Colorado’s mountains and have a hill climb to the top of one of our 14teeners, Pikes Peak, and pose for a 1addicts photo op. So here is my sales pitch and the purposed route. Meet up at Red Rocks in Morrison. Head south on highway 285. Take a slight detour onto a small climb to pretty views and empty (no bikers) twisty foothills roads, Turkey Creek Road to Pleasant Park Road. Join back up shortly with highway 285 to cut off towards the springs Co Road 126/Pine Valley Road - Highway 67 for our long stint of the drive (50 miles). 2 hrs into our journey we hit Woodland Park for possible lunch and fuel as the next stop is 14,000 feet up. Climb up Pikes Peak highway to the top of Colorado for a photo op and show Stelvio’s Pass who’s boss (yah right). Pikes Peak Highway is a toll road of $12 per person, there is a printable coupon (http://www.springsgov.com/SIB/files/...upon%20Big.gif) for $2 off. Then highway 24 to I-25 back to Denver. Total round trip is looking at somewhere between 6 hrs including lunch. I am thinking this mega day trip could happen Sunday August 25th or Saturday August 31st. Let me know your thoughts and dates |

Consider joining us for Drive4 Corners (or at least the caravan down there to Salida!)
The drive down is Friday, August 9th at ~9:30am from Park Meadows. Just trying to spread information regarding the Denver caravan to Drive 4 Corners! Should be a good sized group heading to the event that day: http://drive4corners.com/?p=1855 Fine Details: http://drive4corners.com/wp-content/...ravan-Info.pdf Who else is going??

I'm open so far that day. If that's the date (aug 31), I can distribute to the Denver area email group that I have slowly amassed...
There's a nice parking lot inside Morrison that would work for up to ~25 cars and you can't miss it on the main strip! If that's where we are going, I can plan for that...
