Weight Difference: BMW 135i vs. 335i (Actual Results)

After running a 10 second pass in my 135i, I was really curious what it weighed. So, I found a local weigh station and put it on the scale. I even brought my stock BMW 335i to find out the difference in weight between the two.

135i weighed 3,300lbs without a driver.
335i weighed 3,600lbs without a driver.

For more details, like the weight reduction I've already done on the 135i and how much gas each car had, check out my video below. I ripped the 135i at the beginning, so it's worth watching anyways.

Man 135i's are heavy

Is 300lbs a big weight difference performance/feel wise? Does it make the 335's feel much bigger?

Sometimes I think I might as well have gotten an e92 M3 if the 135i isn't all that much smaller feeling. Never drove one though, maybe I shouldn't risk it!

Great videos btw! Just subbed.

Yes, 300lbs is noticeable, and the 135i feels smaller than an E92.

The new Porsche 911 Carrera S has a curb weight of 3340 lbs.

Personally wouldn't want a larger, heavier car with less torque out of a V8. Handling, sure but beyond that I can't imagine any reason to really go for an E92 M3

Throttle response and the joy of an 8,400 rpm redline. And the ability to more comfortably carry passengers in the rear.

My needs have changed and I'm also considering an E92 M3 to replace my 1er. I'll leave my Z4 M as my low weight, small, tossable Bimmer.

Been thinking about engaging in weight savings myself. Should be easy enough to get the car down to 3000-3100 lbs without sacrificing internal comforts. Just have to be willing to toss the seats which I'm not yet as they're still in good condition.

Is an E92 all that much better in the rear, though? You gain a little in legroom, but loose a little in headroom.

To each their own. None of the ones I'd driven were exciting. Hope you find what you're looking for!

Thanks for subscribing! I will admit that the 135i was heavier than I thought, but I can feel the difference between it and the 335i for sure.
