What a masterpiece ShocknAwe ! Give us a ballpark of the cost if you don’t mind!

Congrats on that, you’re going to love that car even more.

And I’ve always loved that vantage point on a car, an undercarriage with all the shiny parts and mechanicals.

Oh, and....
In the realm of "I see what you did there...". That's some fancy undercar lighting bucko! Makes for some quality photos to be sure

Oh, and.... again....
ignoring the 2.5 neck down. Totally should have coughed up for 3" all through...

It's not perfect yet. Current issues include an un-ignorable level of drone from 2200-2800 rpm, catless stank, and the fuel filler cap light/SES, which is likely due to the charcoal canister.

We'll get there though.

Yeah they took some nice shots for me.

Fabricator says 2.5" neck down at the end of the DP will likely give a venturi effect until really up there in the 800-1000 whp range, which I will "never" do and that I really shouldn't worry about it unless we know exhaust gases are building pressure there and we really "need" that last 5whp. Again, pointless.

I started to remove all the rust from the previous owners. I rescued the car from the rust belt-safe in the dry desert now.

Seems to be an issue at 55-60. Putting my seats up and adjusting the wastegate adaptation in my flash and we'll see if it's better.

I'm very much a Get Off My Lawn kinda guy when it comes to drone.

Got these in from Redlinegoods. much better quality than the gauge hood from Coby Wheel. Stitching is straight and even along the seams. Can't wait to get this stuff on the interior pieces

Redline goods is the real deal. Ive used them on all my cars so far and theyve done custom pieces for me in the past.

200k miles in the salt and snow of Northern Virginia and Maryland, and my car isn't too bad. Not exactly a showroom example, but better than 90% of cars its age.

What shade of gray is that Alcantara that you selected on their site?

Pretty boring, especially compared to all the work by ShocknAwe - did an oil change yesterday with Castrol 0W-40. I had two changes worth of LL01 blessed in my stash.

Also ordered a third brake (genuine BMW) light just in case they become impossible to buy.

The plastic on my steering wheel looks terrible and the leather is starting to dry out and crack. What are good DIY options or even refurbishment options? I want to keep a very OEM look and feel but would be open to tasteful mods. Has anyone tackled this recently with great results?

Put my Maddad whisper on today. Was anxious to see how it fits and sounds.
Now it vibrates, tomorrow I need to get some washers and drop that middle brace down to stop it.
But it sounds amazing, cold start is really loud. But mellows and is a deep growl maybe quieter than oem at idle. My car had most of its drone at idle and a little in 6th at highway cruise speeds and both of those drones are completely gone. I still need to try all different rpms and see if I can find any drone. But that's after I get rid of the vibration.
It has less pops and burbles on decel than oem but I'm guessing that is due to it releasing alot of the back pressure . Better for the new turbos I'm sure.
The right tip is rubbing the side of my diffuser and I need to try to center it better tomorrow as well

9002 which is what BMW used on the 1M. they use a darker color for the Performance stuff which I think stands out too much against our interior plastics

Redline Goods sells a steering wheel leather cover kit, and you can simply scuff up the plastic and then paint it or wrap it with vinyl. Redline does a really good job.

I had to fiddle with the rubber hanger mounts to get mine to sit straight.

Tiny piece of leather on the left side of my M-Sport steering wheel has been bugging me for a year. Last month, out of the blue, a massive chunk fell off.

I did notice it’s at 9:00 both where the sun hits when she’s parked at the office, and where my hand pretty much always is.
I have a Redline shift boot, and ZHP shift knob. So seriously considering a Redline steering wheel wrap. But don’t have a puller, and am unsure of my ability to sew it on decently.

Added some smoked sequential side markers. And I actually kinda like them. Especially the smoked color on the sapphire.
