Still a fun car to daily drive though.
annoyed from "regulars" maintenance. anyone want to buy a 2011 bmw 135i, 60k miles for $25,000. with $4000 in extra parts: front and rear brake rotors and pads and sensor, valve cover assembly, oil pan gasket, serpentine belt kit, water pump and thermostat, spark plugs and coils, transmission filters, oil pan bolt kit, 15L 5w-30 engine oil, redline transmission fluid, redline differential fluid, coolant fluid, brake fluid, power steering chf-11 fluid. always been stock.

already completed, oil filtering housing gasket 02/2020, new rear tires 02/2020,

Seems like you're all set there. Just need to add the labor and you're set for 5-ish years, besides the spark plugs maybe...

that is what I am trying to jump ship from.
I drive around town slower than a grandma so I am looking to buy a grandma's car. Got pulled over for driving too slow 01/2020 just as confirmation.

I would suggest a used Prius, or something similar. Not very fast, plus you can save a lot on gas. Win-win. :-)

If you're picking a Honda Civic then shouldn't you be picking a humble Toyota Corolla as well, and not the superior Camry? lol

Keep the luxury feel, CT200h! Personally I love how they look.

Well, there isn't much difference is there?

I guess, not really. The Civic and the Corolla are similar models, like the Accord and Camry are similar models, is what I was trying to say.

I'll go with desertman123's choice, anyway.

on the extreme side: public transport and few pairs of shoes. pros: reduce green house gases, no insurance cost, no car tax, no maintenance cost, no fuel cost. It's too easy to ask a fellow corporate worker for a ride.

Or maybe one of those commuter e-bikes.

PF Flyers - "Run faster, jump higher." I had a pair when I was a kid. They really worked!

Guess who designs processes and layouts out the plant? Engineers. The Focus RS head gasket issue was a process engineering failure. It could have easily been pokeyoked but was not.

I guess if you want to dial it into specifically the Industrial Process Engineers or Industrial Engineers in general, sure, but that wasn't really the point being made. And even then, it could still come down to human error picking up the wrong box or someone mis-labeling a box of parts, or a million other possible scenarios. But from what I hear it's not an issue inherent to the design of the vehicle or it's specified parts, if we need to be absolutely clear of the point that was being made.

I get it. The design as intended was solid and what I'm addressing wasn't really the point, but its important to bring up.

The thing is, this type of stuff needs to be error proofed because you never know if a supplier is going to make some sort of mistake or someone is going to grab the wrong part from the wrong bin or load the wrong bin into the wrong flow rack. The two gaskets were extremely similar and undetectable after assembly so a simple vision system should've been implemented to prevent this (I could set it up for a few grand) or a simple design change up front to add a feature that prevents one gasket from fitting on the other block.
