New HPFP option that I haven't seen mentioned

https://dorchengineering.com/product...-hpfp-upgrade/

Flows better than the XDI (which was insanely over priced, guess they recently dropped the price by $500). There is also another new pump out from a company called Spool. Both flow better than the XDI, the Dorsch stage 1 flows better and is half the original cost (now about 500 less).

My HPFP is failing and I've wanted to upgrade forever. I was never going to buy an XDI for 2200 (more than my stage 2 turbo), but 1100 for this Dorch is reasonable and realistic pricing. Unfortunately, my year is not listed as a direct fitment. I emailed Dorch and will report back with info for us 2011 N55 guys.

TLDR: Dorch pump is $1,100, outflows the 1700$ XDI and is supported in Boot and MHD (or getting close to being so on the MHD side). If this fits, i'm buying.

2011 135i have the same hpfp as 2007-2010 bmw 135i/335i. See the fcpeuro youtube video below for reference (hpfp starts at 4:10)

an extended warranty was give to 2007-2009 bmw 3 series under sib130309 that bmw with cover/replace hpfp for bmw 3-series due to low service life for 10yrs/120k. Now that its 2020. sadly its was never expended to 1-series and the date is expiring even for low milage 2011 n55s.

Code:
This Service Information bulletin supersedes SI B13 03 09 dated November 2009.

SUBJECT
N54 Special Limited High-pressure Pump (HDP) Emissions Warranty of 10 Years/120,000 Miles

MODEL
MY 2007,2008, 2009 E60, E61 – 535i, 535xDrive with N54 engine
MY 2007, 2008, 2009 E90, E92, E93 – 335i, 335xDrive, 335Ci, 335CixDrive, 335Cic with N54 engine MY 2008, 2009 E82, E88 – 135is with N54 engine
MY 2009 E89 – Z4 sDrive 35i with N54 engine
MY 2009 E71 – X6 xDrive 35i with N54 engine

SITUATION
BMW has become aware of a potential problem that could affect the durability of the High–pressure Fuel Pump (HDP) of certain MY 2007, 2008, and 2009 BMW automobiles equipped with N54 engines. We estimate that only a small percentage of vehicles will actually develop a problem. Vehicles affected may have the Service Engine Soon lamp illuminated with various low fuel pressure-related faults (e.g., 29DC, 29F1, 29F2 ) stored in the Engine Control Module (DME). Also, the affected vehicles may experience an extended engine starting time ("long crank") or reduced engine performance ("engine failsafe mode") when the High-pressure Fuel Pump malfunctions.

CORRECTION
In the event that the High-pressure Fuel Pump of an MY 2007, 2008 or 2009 3 Series vehicle (335i/xi Sedan/Coupe/Convertible), MY 2007, 2008 or 2009 5 Series vehicle (535i/xi Sedan/Sports Wagon), MY 2008
or 2009 1 Series vehicle (135is Coupe/Convertible), MY 2009 Z4 sDrive 35i, or MY 2009 X6 xDrive 35i
equipped with the N54 engine exhibits the symptoms listed above, it should be replaced with the improved part (P/N 13 51 7 592 881). For HDP diagnostic and replacement instructions, refer to SI B12 55 06 and RA 13 51 017, found in BMW TIS.

IMPORTANT:
Since Monday, October 19, 2009, a Part Replacement Authorization has been required (via submission of a TC Case) for replacement of the N54 HDP Pump on E82, E88, E89, E60, E61 and E71 vehicles. For details related to the "N54 Fuel System TC Action", refer to SI B13 08 09.

Any TC part replacement must be preapproved by the TeileClearing process if it is to be paid by BMW NA. TC part replacement without prior approval will be subject to debit. Claims submitted without
prior approval will not be eligible for payment by BMW NA. When submitting a warranty claim for

As a commitment to our customers and to demonstrate our confidence in our product, BMW will extend the emissions warranty of the High-pressure Fuel Pump (HDP) from 4 years or 50,000 miles to 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever comes first.
The emissions warranty extension for this component applies to the above-listed models only, and is transferable to any subsequent purchaser of these models.
This extended emissions warranty is applicable to vehicles registered in all 50 states. Warranty coverage for all other parts is not affected.
BMW will inform all affected owners of the above-listed models of their extended High-pressure Fuel Pump emissions warranty. A sample letter is attached.

I researched that hpfp also but it will likely be the wrong fit for 2011 n55. which the company/seller should update their product page to give notice that it fits 2012-newer n55 models.

What gets my panty is a bunch is that I reached out to bmw usa and a local dealership to see if they can work with my on this. BMW NA said corporate version of 'no' and dealership said $100 to plug in a obd2 and run a scan. Maybe it was overlooked and the e82 1-series wasn't added but they were only looking at 3 and 5 series. It is interchangeable with the n54 hpfp models and my has failed throwing codes at 60k miles, as a 2011 n55 owner, (works fine if i drive like a grandma but if i mash the gas it will limp mode)

Ya, I'm aware the warranty doesn't extend to us. The Dorch pump also does not fit. But this does fit
http://spoolperformance.us/index.php...&product_id=77
tho I think our HPFP's fuel better than the later model n55's do. Still several hundred cheaper than XDI.

If you aren't running a hybrid turbo, the stock from FCPEuro is for sure your best choice. Lifetime warranty.
