I'll take some tomorrow. As far as financing you'd have to check with your bank or credit union, some will finance private sales.

There's a 2011 135i DCT that just popped up for sale at Carmax: https://www.carmax.com/car/20739081

They listed it and reduced it within 5 hours. I'm constantly looking and earlier today it was listed at $23,998

Edit: having it shipped to a local CarMax. Lets hope it's decent

Did you check it out? How was the transfer process? Timeline?

Another 135i popped up for sale on Carmax today, it's ~160 miles (2.5 hour drive each way) from me. I put a hold on it to test drive it but I'm thinking about paying the $99 transfer fee. It's a 2011 with 70k miles, black/tan, missing the M sport package , listed for $20k.

It arrived at my local CarMax (Lancaster, PA) last night so I expect a call today or tomorrow.

It doesn't have Comfort Access which is a huge downside that I'm pretty sure will be a deal breaker. However, even if I don't buy it, I still have yet to drive a 135i for a day for $99. (I've been lusting over one for over a year).

I don't think you can drive it for the entire day. I've test driven 8-10 vehicles at Carmax since Covid and they've always limited it to 20 minutes.

Speaking as a (not yet) 1-series owner, why do you consider Comfort Access a deal breaker? As best I've been able to figure out, it's unlocking the car on proximity and not needing the key in the ignition slot. I mean, the former is super helpful and the latter is cool, but a deal breaker? Curious mind wants to know.

Honestly, just because it’s convenient. I currently drive a 2002 Golf. I’d like some features that are from the 21st century.

My girl’s 2013 Sentra has it, and honestly it’s amazing, best convenience feature ever implemented in cars ever IMO.

Obviously I could absolutely fall in love with this car, but I’ve been saving for quite a while and I’m hesitant to “settle” for a car that doesn’t have 2 of the 3 things I’m looking for (Manual, Blue, Comfort Access).

This car only has 1 (blue).

Not to mention that this car is priced higher (CarMax) than other DCT cars with this mileage.

Interesting, I’m hoping that’s not the case as I’m vaccinated and my area has pretty much relieved all restrictions for vaccinated individuals.

How did the test drive go? Did they give you the standard 20 minutes to drive it around or an extended period?

I have a hold on: https://www.carmax.com/car/20742967 but it will be released tomorrow. It's in Cali but if you buy it they will waive the transfer fee. I hate tan/beige interiors especially in sportier cars and have found a 2013 locally with lower miles and coral red interior that I'm seriously considering.

Still haven't test driven it. Guy is saying it takes several days after a transfer for it to be ready. I expect a call tomorrow or Tuesday.

However in PA, dealers aren't allowed to operate on Sundays, so I took a drive over there today and looked around. It's packing in like a sardine back in behind the wholesale auction vehicles, but was unlocked so I was able to look it over.

They also fresh inspected it for PA. Brakes were in good shape, body was clean, interior was a bit dirty, but that's fine. I did notice that the shadowline trim was a little oxidized/pitted. It looked like they tried to "cover" it as the pitting has a blue tint to it. The rubber trim at the top of the windshield is starting to "peel" up and the rubber trim around the sunroof is a little fuzzy. There was also a circled rock chip on the window that I presume they would remove the oil marker around it. It isn't in the direct line of sight so it didn't need fixed/replaced for inspection.

Overall it was in really good shape, but I'm gonna see if they can do anything about the trim, rubber seals, and the rock chip.

Not too happy with the communication from CarMax, but it is what it is.

I test drove a 2013 today (https://www.toyotamarin.com/inventor...UC9C52DVM13645) that had comfort access, don't see the big deal. It's nice to have but I wouldn't pass on a vehicle that is not equipped with it if it checks off everything else. However, this particular 135i was equipped with active steering and it was horrible. Not as numb as a Camry but compared to the 135i I drove last week with the standard hydraulic steering it changed the experience significantly, I wouldn't buy a 135i with AS even if it were discounted.

The car has DCT without even sport package or sport seats. It was doomed from the start.

Yah, there are tons of low mileage non-sport package cars for decent prices, but those aren't even getting a second look from me.

It's amazing the mentality that caused dealerships to order these cars without desirable options just to keep them under a price point. Once you top $40k on a tiny two-door, why not go for it all? My 2013 128i 6MT M-sport is supposedly one of a very small universe because they were considered too expensive, and too close to 135i prices. Thank-you to whoever it was that ordered mine so I can enjoy it into my old age!
