How about the inner wheel well? How are you extending that? Or did the body shop take it from there?
I cut it down the middle and welded in a patch panel to fill the gap. They sealed and painted it for me.

Epic. Looks like it came out beyond great, and fast too.

Nice. Since I have no metal work experience. Would body shops perform this method or would I have to convince them? I like how quick it is and I won't have to have the car in a shop for a month and a half.

Any pictures of the cutting and the patch panel?

Seems like it would cut the labor to a small fraction of the original.

Exactly what I love about this method. Looks really straight forward and could probably be done in 2 days and then straight to paint. Versus the month in a body shop then to paint.

OP should have a metal cutout made, and sell for profit profit profit.

Kind of hard for him to do that now that its on the car.

I looked into the Rear Arch for the Prior Design kit but its fiberglass.. wish it was metal then we could all just buy those rear arches.

They won't even sell it independently, I checked.

This really would be great for a 3D Scan & Print for someone who has a larger machine. OP knows where the cut off is, could easily scan in the car and 3D print a set of arches.

Cutting and splicing the panels can be done in one day. Another day to do the inner wheels wells. I did the 2nd panel, from to start to finish in 2.5 hours + another 2 hours for the inner well. This approach also gives you room to adjust the panel before bonding for a perfect fit.

More time is spent planning your cuts before hand (and building up the courage to cut up your car)

If you are decent with body work then all you need to do is cover the cost of painting or wrapping.

Sorry, being the first time I tried my hand at body work I was locked into the process and didn't take pics of the cutting, but here are some good photos from Venoms conversion. This is what the cut looks like (minus their approach to the inner wheel well)

1M OEM rear quarter panels are really expensive(about 1500€ in Europe), someone really need to make 3d scan and 3d print a set of metal arches if is that possible. I think this would interest many people, it would be no problem to sold many of them!

There are 3 versions of the quarter panel, I picked up the least expensive one

This guy was trying to make composite flares based on the oem panels

I've not looked too in-depth at how other people have been doing this, but your method is very common when quarter panels are damaged beyond repair in accidents. The OEMs specify dimensions and areas where the panel can be cut and sectioned into the existing panel. Interesting that the part is so cheap. Makes this much more approachable. Excellent work!

OK, picked it up from shop. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. In person you could not tell the difference between this and full panel replacement.

Still more work to do, mirrors, interior, getting wheels installed. Hope to have it meet ready in the next 2 weeks.

So ive got to ask where/ who did you get the parts through straight from Germany, I want to get a few things while the exchange is favorable.

And might i add congratulations on such a great job.

Thanks
