Melted Wires Below Intake Manifold

The other day the check engine light came on and after sitting in the garage for a while, it smelled like someone had been welding in there. The car is sending fault codes saying low voltage for all 4 O2 sensors. The fuse was blown and blew again when I changed it. I was looking for any bare wires on the O2 sensors but found some other melted wires under the intake manifold. Can someone tell me what the damaged parts are as well as possible causes and repair costs?

Thanks

I think the repair will require spliced cables. realOem may have parts for the plugs, ultimately to be used in replacement wire and spliced connector.

I would be concerned because alot of engine smoke incidents on e90post have had wires like these mentioned (there is another one at back of manifold)

You may also need to replace the sensor it was connected to on the manifold

How many km on your car?

It's tough to see but what I assume is a sensor and the part that it attaches to is melted and will need to be replaced. My problem is that I don't know what the parts are.

Today I pulled the wire out with needlenose pliers, cut off the melted piece of wire and taped the ends. This allowed me to put in a fresh fuse and the check engine light stayed off. I'll check tomorrow and see if it's throwing any other faults.

I would still like to know what actually melted before taking it to my Indy shop, if anyone has any ideas.

Turns out it was the angle connector that shorted out. 120k km on the car.

I'll have to replace the angle connector, vent hose and the wiring connector. The problem I have now is that the connector turned to ash when I pulled it so I'm not sure which wire is which when I rebuild the connector. I'm going to check the donor car and hopefully it can tell me which wire goes on which contact.
