The wheels are 18x8.5 ET45 APEX EC7s. I have Koni yellows, Dinan camber plates, and M3 control arms (-2.0* of camber overall). The strut clearance in front already seemed marginal, even with the stock 262s (17x7 ET47) - my last track day I saw the inside of my drivers tire chewed up a bit from the strut perch. Front fender clearance looks good at the top for now, it looks a little tight in the front, but I'll hopefully have some time this weekend to put the car up and check things. |

I run 18x8.5 et 43 AC type 3 wheels on 235/40 tires. Very satisfied, but I am not lowered more than stock sport height.

For me in Germany, only Federal 595RS-RR make the 245/35/18 track day tires.
Those are not street legal, so on certain track days they will not be allowed. Hence why i am focusing on 17x8.5 ET40 wheels instead for my 125i. Besides, the 125i/128i is the lightest of the E82 series (if i am not mistaken) and you can find Apex 17s as well as OZ alleggerita in 17 x 8,5 ET40 as well. Both wheels weight around 7,6kgs (super light) and both are super strong. My goal is to run 235/40/17 square on Nangkang AS-1s (they kept getting good reviews, even certain "track junkies" i know locally switch from Cup 2s to them). I aim for the 8.5" wheel since i wanted to be "ready" for a 245 tire when the time comes, last thing i want is to pinch 245s on a 8" wheel (some get away with it, it depends on the wheel and tire). Now, you then have the other side, where some claim that the E82 is "too heavy", and one should run 18" instead (even for the 125i/128i), i am unsure honestly about this. |

We've seen this fitment with 235/40 and even 245/35 tires with negative camber and rolled fenders.

I can not find any other wheel in this size and offset locally in Germany, most run ET40 and up to ET35 offsets (really aggressive and will definitely require fender mods). |

We have many customers running both Super Sports and the new Pilot Sport 4S tires without issue. You should have no issues running our recommended set up with Michelin tires

Looking at 245/40/17s semi slicks cost between €150 to €220 (including cup 2s) significantly cheaper and a much wider range of brands to find what i like best. i am aiming for 17s ARC8 track day wheels, i am just not sure if i will go for 8.5" or 9", since i do plan to run camber plates at some point in the future, hate to buy wheels twice. Due to local TÜV rules and laws, i will be getting used OE 17x8 BMW wheels and going 235/40 all round. Anything else would be for track days (no need for TÜV) since there is no insurance on track anyways. |
