I wouldn't have thought it would be too hard. The kits usually come with fitting instructions. I would imagine you may have to unscrew the outer casing to fit the new ones.

Will take a look at mine to see how they come apart.

I also have some UK parts prices - they don't 100% allign with esscolab's, but they are here in front of me on a quote from my local dealership.... All prices are ex VAT, ex fitting.

"Perf Silencer" (the cat back exhaust) £446.81

Steering wheel £455.32
Steering wheel cover (with multifunction buttons in my case) £25.49

"Performance grill" (high gloss kidney grills) £21.28 ea (one left, one right)

Carbon fibre interior trims - they are all priced individually, not one fixed price per panel. For a total set for the 135i, consisting of 6 items, they are:

£80.85 (main instrument panel)
£59.58 (door, 2 required, so double this price...)
£136.17 (centre console)
£22.98 (ashtry cover)
£80.85 (gearshift panel)

I've ordered the CF interior for the moment. My local dealer (Specialist Cars in Stevenage) has a 10% off offer on all BMW Performance items till tomorrow (31st May) so I thought I'd take advantage. Apparently the exhaust sounds good by the way....

Hope that helps!

Hi Moff, I reckon UK the grills would cost £50.01, inc VAT and before any discount you could wangle with your dealership - am I missing some parts?

Sorry, meant $$$$ not ££££

I would really like the exhaust, but accoding to the Yanks, as it needs cutting it requires 3 hours labour, which is an additional £300!

I've no idea what rate they charge per hour, but my local dealer (Sytner - Harold Wood) quoted:

£446.81 + VAT, £525 inc. VAT for the part itself and,

£556.81 + VAT, £654 inc. VAT fitted.

To me that looks like either 2 hours at £55 per hour exc. VAT, or more likely for a BMW dealer in the South East, 1 hour at £110 exc. VAT

My dealer told me I can't get the high gloss grill as it comes only with full aerodynamic kit... Is he right?

And again about the diffuser the dealer told me it is not available yet... and once it will be available the price will be around 550-650...
Sometimes I am speechless about their competence

Man, don't blame the Messenger, these are the prices from last months edition of BMW Magazine. I am sure the garages insert their own fees/rates for fitting these which will differ wildly from garage to garage. Shop around and when you can, fit the stuff yourself.

(I did my foot pedals as the garage wanted to charge £120 an hour).

Agree, but I will be ordering my car on thursday and the list of performance accessories is as follows:

CF Front Spliters
CF Rear spoiler
Performance seats
Performance gear shift kit
Performance wheels
Performance brakes kit

I also wanted CF rear diffuser but "it is not available", shadow-line grill apparently available "only with full aero kit"
and mirrors I decided to buy and fit myself as they wanted £360 fro those

Anyways as you see most of these parts must be dealer fitted and they charge for that quite a bit. I'm fine with that but when they say it's not available and than i read at the forum that somebody got it form different dealership... That's what upsets me!

I'd push on the grill - my dealer didm't appear to have a problem if I'd wanted to order it on its own.

Endre, are you sure that price is for the rear diffuser, £220 is abit cheap compared to other prices floating about. Where is the dealer based?

well i am also certainly interested in looking at one of the rear diffusers, wont be buying it for a while what with holidays and the like coming up.... but it would be nice to get an official price.. however give it a few months and I'm sure the after market bods will have good quality ones about.

Its either that or i may well look at painting it black to match my window surrounds and doing the mod posted in the others threads with the cut out and mesh. However by the time its been sprayed, even with no mistakes it may work out the same cost anyway!!

think you may be right there changed, i also don't think the mess look works. it aint a corsa, how many nice bmw's have you seen with mess? i have not seen one, its all down to personel taste, i don't like all the carbon bits like mirrors, spoiler, having seen the diffuser in real life i'm changing my mind on that (well for the price anyway).

Thought I'd give this one a quick bump.

Just got a quote for SSK - £316 inc VAT + fitting @ £120 an hour for the full kit.

No part numbers for the suspension kit yet, and hence no price. It basically comprises springs, struts and front/rear anti-roll bars.

They quoted 1-2 hours labour for the SSK, and I was previously quoted 1 hour for the exhaust. As the exhaust has to come off to fit the SSK from what I've read (and confirmed with service dep't at the local dealer), it should hopefully come in around 2 hours total for the pair.

Think I'll have to have a chat with my parents' local dealer in Devon and see if labour's any cheaper down there.

Rear diffuser def fits both diesel and petrol - its the same part, and the diesel exhaust sits in the middle of the space for the exhaust - just check out the thread in the Photo's forum of the German 123d with full BMW Performance kit.

I am really keen on the SSK, but will wait and decide after I get the CDV installed tomorrow.

I seriously doubt that the exhaust will cost only 1 hour labour
based on the experience from the Yanks. The quote is not based on experience IMO, and more on a 'hunch' of how they think it can be installed. Cutting is involved!

I'll be interested to know what you think of the Riss CDV. Have you had any problems with shifting so far? For whatever reason, I'm yet to be convinced that it won't be smooth with the stock CDV, as long as you've got decent clutch control and you're not hammering it from the lights.

The cutting thing on the BMW Performance exhaust really pisses me off. It's such a poor solution, but if you want to keep your warranty you have to stick with it.

The more I think about it, the more I'm erring towards the idea of keeping the car totally stock for a year to give the fuel pump and wastegates a chance to fail if they're going to. Then just whack a whole bunch of stuff in at the same time.

I'd like to check out the set-up of those Track Prep blokes who posted a few weeks back, as well as CA Automotive up in Leicester. CA are based at Bruntingthorpe and you're supposed to get a couple laps of the track, so would be good when getting coilovers and anti-roll bars to test the before and after

Slight OT so apologies for the hijack but has anyone gotten a price for the roof based ski/snowboard recepticle thingy?

Didn't opt for the diddy looking skibag option and the thought of putting my mucky skis anywhere within the sanctity of my new lovers bowels (even the booty) has me in a cold sweat!

62 days! the wait is such sweet agony
