Help: Turn Signal Light Stays On

Hey guys,

Could really use some help trying to figure out an issue I'm having with my passenger headlight. The actual amber turn signal bulb stays solidly lit when my car is either on or off. I have an error light on my dash that just let's me know that there is an error, but my turn signal arrow isn't illuminated or anything. Lowbeams on both sides work fine as does the driver side turn signal light. I have disconnected the headlight so my battery doesn't drain, but I am not sure what's causing the issue. I replaced the bulb and cleaned around the contact area, but no change. TIA!

Basically looks like this when I turn the car off

I know this is a dumb question but have you checked the position of the light switch? Is in the parking lights setting?

check the left/drivers side bulb and socket very carefully. Especially look for a bad ground.

Same symptoms in all positions, unfortunately.

Which fuse would that be for a turn signal light on just one side?

Tried looking around, but what should I be looking for exactly?

Could be the Footwell Module (FRM)? Apparently it can be to blame for weird light issues. My ‘08 would turn on the reverse lights and parking sensor anytime I hit the brakes.

Warranty was apparently just extended for these (edit: only certain model years, mine wasn’t covered).. info here: https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show...light=Footwell

Honestly I just came in here to find jokes related to BMW and Turn Signals, but none where found. I would also suggest FRM module but have no idea how to check if it's bad or not. Any issues with the power windows?

This issue can only be solved by tracing where the voltage is coming from. A relay or switch that should be turning the voltage off is shorting out or not working. This is not easy to do without a Chilton or equivalent manual with a wiring diagram.
It's likely not a fuse, as a fuse not working will simply turn off the power for that circuit.

A quick google search found this thread on a similar issue with an e90. It sounds like the FRM module & reprogramming is the answer.

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=679894

This should be covered under the extended FRM warranty which was extended to 10 years/156,000 miles.

FRM Footwell Module warranty extension.
