I like it because I remember countless time when I had a handful of groceries and had to fidgets around my pocket for keys. Sometime it is quite a circus act, I even had a monkey toss a coin at me.

With Comfort Access, does it only operate via the handle on the driver's door, or from any/all door handles?
My wife uses a wheelchair and it would be really useful to approach the car from the passenger side and have it unlock to get her aboard without having to go to the driver's side first. |

it's pretty cool coz if you grab the back door handle it'll open up all the doors on the car.. but you can set it up a couple different ways.. depending on what you need..
Sooooo... yes.. :P |

Trunk opens with a push of the release, does not unlock the car..
3'er CA is only on the front doors. both sides.... not rear.. 5 and 7 also get the rear, Car recognizes the key (car key memory) and resets to the last used setting for that key fob. Note: holding your fingers on the handle after it locks will close the windows and sunroof, and fold the mirrors in. YOu must use the key fob, holding the unlock button down to get the windows and sunroof to open.. as on a HOT day. |

Quick question on CA if you have an alarm. When you touch the handle, does it disable the alarm as well? Or do you still need to press the fob to disable the alarm first (which will make CA pointless)?

In Europe (at least) alarm is an option. With CA you only need to introduce the fob into the ignition lock to disable the alarm if you have previously used the auxiliary integrated key to open the car (i.e. when a signal inhibitor is bothering in the area).

Comfort Access also prevents the key coming near the paint which is the main reason I got it. My hot rods are immaculate, ergo, a scratch in the paint:eyebulge: is simply unacceptable.

You don't use a physical key to open the doors though. You press the button on the fob, which looks pretty identical to the CA fob, and is a plastic puck.
So when are we going to see some pics of the hot rods???? Please? |

Alarm on the e90 is a dealer/DIY installed, post factory option.. Car is prewired, and "alarm" kit consists of an ultrasonic module for inside the vehicle, a hood switch, and a siren that goes up under the left rear wheel well.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1487 Will bet the 1er is the same I will restate that CA is a very nice option, and one I woud check first when ordering a car... Regarding the "valet keeping the key" ..... when the FOB is not inside the car with the engine running, the dash is filled with warming lights and chimes... "key is not present"... so One would have to be totally oblivious to the dash to drive away without it.. yes I know.. someone will... |

Our 325i has led lights under the exterior door handles that light up the ground area around the door. It's a very nice feature that most people don't think about. The car has comfort access and I believe those courtesy lights are part of that option.

I don't have comfort access on my e90 330i, and I have those integrated LEDs on the bottom of the door handles. When I unlock the doors via keyfob at night, they light up. They are pretty cool though. It would be nice if the 1er coupe had them too.

Comfort access is amazing. One of the few features I would say is a must, especially if you're already doling out a lot of dough. My wife's E90 335xi has it and she's mentioned that she'll never get another car without this feature. I've also ordered it on my E92. Fob always remains in my pocket. Never have to worry about placing fob into dash to start the car. Kinda of silly if you think about it. What's the use of the start button, if you have to insert a fob first? Might as well just go back to the old key and crank.
