I sure did. Just mentioned it in the other thread. Love that stuff. Smells like rubbing alcohol and marshmallows. Or cotton candy. Something. Can't quite put my finger on it.

Bought an Ultragauge so I can monitor coolant temp and battery voltage, among other things... Now I've gotta figure out where to install it.

Picking her up from the shop today.... check engine light at 65k miles for failed cats(both sets). Covered under warranty thankfully, once that was fixed, they also had to replace solenoids to fix the CEL, will find out more details once I make the swap.

Yesterday, I replaced the 128i grills on my 135, today I drove the 135i to the BMW dealership to look at an immaculate 2004 M3 to add to the "collection". I really like certain BMW's...

Cheers,
Cody

Hey Cody - I thought you liked the 128 Grills on your 135i? What ever happened to the great tasting Alta Loma water? That's ok, you can replace them and still have great taste. what did you replace them with - all black?

E46 M3 - one of the greatest cars of all time. Love that 333 hp high revving Straight 6. If only it wasn't for the SMG trans (I can't drive a manual any more).

I'll second that one. Have always loved the E46 M3, was the first BMW I really lusted for and have come close to getting one several times. But like you, can't drive a manual anymore and the SMG defeats the purpose, and thus I'm stuck and will probably never get one. Doesn't keep me from looking every chance I get online probably once a week. I like to somewhat consider our cars just an evolutionary, updated e46 M3 to some degree, though it's still a hair better looking. Titanium silver coupe for me, thanks.

Love that E46 M3! Talk about car porn!

gregthegr8 - Been thinking about why our rear springs are different on the BMWPS Since we both have DCT (I'm very OCD about such things) and emailed Turner Motorsports and gave them my VIN and asked them to look up my springs. They emailed me back and gave me the same part numbers that I have on my car. That's 4 different places that gave me the same part numbers. Wondering again why ours are different? Just curious - do you mind telling me where you bought yours from?

The DCT I don't think determines the springs. But I know in 2011 they modified something in the suspension a smidgen, so I assume the rear spring part # is different then for 2013s with the m-sport package for that reason. I confirmed my part numbers with 2 forum vendors as well, both of which gave me the same rear spring numbers and I cross-checked with another forum member with a 2013 135is.

Just looked it up and you can read about it here. I'm sure that's why. I know yours is a 2011, but perhaps depending on when it was made might affect it. I know which springs you need is VIN specific though and this is the very reason they make us give our vins. If you're still curious or don't believe me, you can send my vin to turner, see what they say, as they are not one of the vendors I contacted.

Then stick a DCT in an e46 M3 so I can drive it and enjoy it. And here's some real e46 M3 porn for you at Enthusiast Auto in Ohio:

Of course I believe you and I have already read about 2011 plus 135i's with the different springs, which probably means you and I had the same springs when we bought our cars. Remember, I have been a lurker here since 2008 so I have read pretty much everything you've read. The reason I ask about the DCT is because it is a major weight item and the new springs they give us have to do with weight. I was also told there is like 8 different part numbers for the front performance springs and 8 different numbers for the rears. Trying to figure out how they figure it out.

I'm guessing a really smart computer tells them. At this point, I just want them on already and would accept any part number rear spring so long as I can put it on! Hopefully they go on early next week, so I can then post here and say, today I put on the BMW performance suspension! Then enjoy a 100 mile drive home from Santa Barbara to help the springs (of any part #) settle a bit before getting an alignment and oil change.

Hahaha, ya, I just learned about that place a few months ago from a fellow member who lives just down the road from there in Cincinnati. They apparently are THE mecca for M cars and such. It's M porn.

Installed H&R Sport Springs and '2' 265/35 Potenzas in the rear today. Installed AC Schnitzer race pedals about 3 months ago.

Man, the E46 M3 is REAL EYE CANDY! But that SMG really sucks! Last year I test drove one at Carmax and it felt like I was driving a manual and didn't know how to work the clutch. It kept lunging backward and forward with every shift I made. Maybe I don't know how to drive it properly, I dunno (I Think I do), how hard can it be? That just ruined the car for me. But it's still the most beautiful BMW I've ever seen.

I live and work only a couple of miles from this joint. Toughest part is driving by without stopping. A few weeks ago I caved in to my urges and drove an E46 M3 with Comp Pkg and an Z4M Coupe... both with the 6MT.

What did I do for my 1er today?

Drove by the dealer who has my car in the shop waiting for the rest of the headlight assembly to come in on Mon or Tues. once they pulled the assembly out, they found corrosion on the adaptive headlight controller.

I have a loaner 2014 335ix with 1000 miles on the clock. Meh...

I took my 1er for its first real spirited drive. Found some good curvy back roads and had some fun! Can't wait to do it again!
