General car discussion / 1M owners
What is everyone looking to buy?
I placed a deposit for a G80 in a dark color as a daily-sedan. Also considering 5th gen 4Runner while they still have hydraulic steering. Last edited by seis-speed; 05-11-2024 at 02:43 PM.. |

Don't have anything plan atm. Was debating if I should get a front lip but i like the look without it. Also, just spent a good chunk on paint correction, new ppf and ceramic coating. I think i'll leave it alone for now and drive it.
It's an awesome truck and wifey loves driving it and gets all the attention on the road. Sips gas like a slurpee though.

Planning to buy the last NA, manual and non-hybrid car. The new 992.2 GT3 is on my list.
The new facelifted RS3 looks promising as well. |

Part of it is where I live + having 3 kids. I want 4 doors+5seats+large trunk for family trips to various Lakes/Mountains/resorts/vacation-spots & sport activities for the kids. Within1-5 hours from my house I have a lot of the above and most routes include some fun twisty roads / highways / and freeways that are very suited to a G80 type of car eating up big sweepers and tight curves. I waited out CT5v Blackwing vs M3 research and test drives. I hated M3 grilles (still do) but I decided G80 works best for my needs going dark color. Lastly G80 has a (great roof-rack attachment) system. The roof rack system was a huge aspect of me deciding to go this way. I will have a cargo box on top + bike rack attachments for many of these trips. |

would be nice if the G81 wagon was available here in the US.
I still can't get over the front end look of the G8x M. I try the best i can to like it but it just doesn't sync in whichever possible way i look at in an angle. Can't stop thinking if it's even worth putting in a deposit on the new G82 M4CS or the G87 M2CS. Not having a manual just kills me. lol

I had looked at the M3cs, but I just know I would regret not getting a manual. OT a bit...I was really hoping the new Land Cruiser or 4runner would have the new manual that Toyota developed for the Tacoma. The basic 1958 model Land Cruiser with cloth seats paired with a manual, even with the 4pot, would have been an exciting vehicle for me. There is a petition to get the manual in the 4runner, we shall see. |

I ran into a white g80 m3cs on the freeway and it looks so good from the back and along the side. As soon as you approach towards the front, the disappointment starts to kick in as you look at it from your rearview mirror.
It's a tough choice for me whether i want the new LC or the new t4r pro. I'm starting to lean more towards the LC. Going to wait for a bit and hopefully they come out with some funky exclusive colors for the trd pro variant.

I was hoping t4r would do the same, but calling around on Underground t4r's they are all spoken for in my area and some with ADM into late Summer. Not sure Toyota will do the send off if sales are good. |

If they hadn't taken the lines of the grills into the hood, it would probably be bearable... Interested to hear how long tires are lasting on the heavier chassis.

My build - manual with carbon buckets is lighter than E92, about 100lbs more than 2018 F80, which gained 50+ lbs during it's production from 2014 models. after adding more equipment and changing out CF parts. Going into this as a daily driver, so hopefully not too disappointed in the numb feeling of the steering, but all new cars feel that way to me, fingers crossed. |

Did not replace 1M. Keeping it but added Lotus Emira. Dare I say it handles better than 1M?

Yes, more fun. Quick comparison. Emira a little more nimble, Double wishbone suspension soaks up bumpy pavement better. 1M throttle response better turbo vs supercharger (although keeping rev's down for break-in procedure). Emira gripes - clutch pedal/brake pedal too close together.
shifter more mechanical (notchy?) than buttery smooth 1M. So far though, It is a blast to drive & quite a looker. |
