13' - 135i(s) Rear Sunroof Drain Exit - Seriously, Where?

So I've got a water leak in my wife's 135is I'm tracking down. I realize it could be several things: (door vapor barrier, moonroof drains, AC drain/coupling)...

But I'm starting with moonroof drains. I cannot for the life of me find the rear drains for the car. I've searched for about 3 hours yesterday on the ole internect machine, no dice.

I tore the back of the car apart, tire liners, side skirts, etc etc and I cannot find the much fabled + shaped drain that I read about. I've checked every frame rail plug under the side skirts (completely removed) and I've checked every plug in the back of the car.

What gives? Is this just an example of the photobucket explosion ruining search results, or am I seriously this dumb?

I'm honestly not sure there are separate rear drains for the sunroof, I think it all drains out up front, and plops out roughly around where the mirrors are.

There are definitely rear drains for the sunroof.

Looks like one at the front passenger side and one at the drivers rear:

I can definitely see them in the mechanism of the moon roof and associated gutters. What I can't tell is where they come out. My 135is has one drain on either side in front. I've poured water in the front drains on both sides and it comes out more or less at the driver door hinge. The back ones I can't figure out. I suppose I need to put the car back together and jack the front up and dump water in there.

RealOEM lists two drain hoses for the rear.

A bit of compressed air before the water would be advisable. Not too much pressure though.

So... mystery solved. On the 2013 135is, the rear roof drains tie in with the misc trunk drains and trunk sill drains and exit just behind the rear wheels. They come out of the two 90 degree elbow drains that are just behind the wheel liners.

Mine were draining a bit slow, but still functioning. Now onto other sources of said water leak. my money is on door vapor barrier.

However for posterity sake, the drains on this particular car are on both sides of the moon roof and exit just behind the rear wheels.

Where is your leak happening inside the car?

I had this issue, but I could not get the drain on the front passenger side unclogged. I used compressed air and wires and still nothing. I ended up running a new drain line, thought this would be helpful to someone

And just for reference, my problem was water on the floor of the passenger footwell. Worst when my car was parked on the street and so slightly tilted towards the passenger side during rain. I already did the following:

- Replaced passenger door vapor barrier
- New front cowl and seal
- Windshield seal
- Many attempts to clean sunroof drains

New drain is in and works great. 5/16" ID vinyl tubing, 8 foot length from hardware store $3.60 and a small tubing clamp. There's a plastic cap under the rug on the passenger side, drill a hole in that, route the tubing backwards under the car for a couple inches, and with the in-car portion of the tubing, snake the tubing up like seen in the pictures. Finally no more wet floor. Headliner isn't hard to bring down just in the front of the interior to access the nipple on the sunroof cassette. It was nice to clean out the mold from in there while it was down anyway. Cheers.
