Oh man! I can already tell this will inflame raging accessory lust/envy in me! I know I shouldn't, but I will have to check this thread obsessively. Larry, I would definitely contirbute some $ via PayPal for a 1Addicts sponsorship!

For you guys keeping track of our progress, with those rotors and calipers BimmerWorld has managed to drop 36 pounds of unsprung mass in the front brakes alone.
The rotors drop 10 pounds per corner, calipers another 8 pounds per corner. |

It looks like we will save an additional 10 pounds per wheel/tire at all 4 corners. However, final tire size is still an issue we are debating.
This is the best Forum I have ever been on and (since I am the car owner) without consulting James or Vic; if somebody wants to send a reasonably sized 1ADDICTS decal---we will run it. Alex |

Alex - someone here will PM you to get the specifics to send you a 1Addicts decal - but I think you're overlooking the possibility of sponsorship $, if you have a PayPal account for the team I'm sure some of this crowd will chip a few bucks in.

Alex sent me the link for this. Thanks for the interest guys! Great to have the support behind the effort. If the forum owner or moderators would like to email me, I can work on the sponsorship deal - and I appreciate the offer!

Count me in for support! For the M3 to win anything I predict BMW will have to run either the sedan or cabrio version.
One request: Pls maintain, or keep notes from which 1addicts can build a 1-series modifications knowledge base. I'll go out on a limb and say that if you develop products which 1) protect a modded motor under track conditions and 2) utilize a mechanical LSD,... you'll likely have a few built in customers. Thanks for the effort and I'm looking forward to vicariously participating in your progress. -Mahlzeit |

I have a theory that upon receiving a drivers license at age 16 every red blooded American male truly believes, somewhere in the recesses of his heart, that he and he alone is truly a great driver. Actual skill is irrelevant to this belief.
James, Vic and I each individually hold this fallacy to be an absolute truth of the universe. For this years OLOA, however, we have resolved to check our collective and substantial egos at the car door. With that mantra in mind, I traveled to BeaveRun this weekend to practice and grind off the winters rust. As a marginally accomplished Spec E30 racer who has competed since the series inception, and a NASA instructor---the "I and I alone am a great driver" fallacious belief expressed above; is generally in full flight. This weekend ,however, I sucked it up and asked for help. How you ask? Well, I clearly could not risk my manhood by raising my hand in the drivers meeting and ask for help. That would have been akin to stopping at a gas station to ask directions while on your first date with a super model; its just not done. I wont bore you guys with the details but suffice to say that I waited until the instructors were coming off track from their first session of the day, jumped out in front of a beautiful Porsche 911 RS America and begged the driver to ride along with me for a session. Brilliant. Local knowledge is king. As I wandered the paddock during the day, I was amazed at how many people came up to me and asked about the 135 that we are building. There is serious interest in the car: half questioning our midget BMW hubris and half pulling for an unprecedented smack down of BMW's mighty M3. Time will tell. I will attach a picture of the One that I just received from the guys at BimmerWorld. The front bumper has been removed and the blow off valve and inter-cooler are going in. Thanks again to Active Autowerke for helping us in the effort. |

Alex - did I mention that I ended up with the whole front end off the car so I could more accurately determine what parts I want to cut off. And I'm totally unsupervised |
