White 1M in Canton GA yesterday???

Anyone here with a white 1M cruising Canton Highway yesterday getting onto Sixes Rd?

A coworker saw it yesterday and had to tell me about it. I just put a deposit down on a white 1M last week and had just told him how "rare" they were. It looks like we have twins down here in GA.

Probably me on my way home, I turned off of Hwy 5 onto Sixes. If it was not me it was probably my neighbor in his white 1M. If you get one there will be 3 in Canton...LOL

Wow, there is a hotbed of 1M's in North GA. I know Dan P has a white 1M and I think he is in Blairsville. I havent seen one on the road yet, but did meet Dan in Cumming a couple of months ago so I could see his before I placed my order. We will definitely have enough for a 1M run through the mountains very soon. Mine (BSM) will be here in a couple of weeks.

Black seems to be the more rare color at this point. That's why I got the BSM, although that orange is freakin' gorgeous. There's just too many of them out there! More than AW that's for sure...

Although I think the BSM is good looking, after owning a black car I said I would never own another (looks great when clean but shows dirt too easy and is always hot). The VO has started to grow on me after watching so many reviews....but in the end the AW is cooler temperatures and realistically you won't see many of these on the road. I have only seen one other 1M in person and that is my neighbors AW.

that's kind of subject to opinion. agreed with the hot/clean comment though. i have it garaged during the day, and work from home...not as much of an issue to me. i DO wish that BMW made this car in a dark gray...IMO that would be such a NICE color in addition to the VO. there are times that i really want that VO, trust me!

I had a black 135 and it doesn't do anything in pictures. In person, you could see all the lines just fine and it looked awesome. It just doesn't photograph well.

I do hate the sharp contrast of the BSM to the light colored wheels. I will definitely be looking to have something done to the wheels at some point, either having them painted hyperblack or getting some 18" M3 wheels that are hyperblack.

Isn't it funny how many threads turn into which color is best? Let's get them all together for a drive. I'm thinking AW is fastest.

Since there are so many locals on here there's a BMW club race Sept 9-11 at Road Atlanta. You guys are welcome to come and hang out. Pm me if you do and I'll put you on my crew list so there's no fee at the entrance. I'll have the race car not the 1.

Dan, I'm sure we're going to run into each other at some point soon. Unfortunately, I don't get the car until my PDC date on Oct 13th. The wait is really getting to me. Went from having two motorcycles (one track, one street) and an STi to walking my arse all around DT Charlotte almost overnight! Once I get it though, I plan on doing some track days/etc. It's hard for me to stay away for too long!

Do you go to VIR or Barber a lot? I those tracks (even though Barber turn 10 bucked me off at around 115 MPH on the bike)! The elevation changes at Barber are just awesome!

Couldn't agree more! That was my only first hesitation on the black. That's why I really want to get the Advan RS wheels for DD's. Gunmetal on that car would look sick.

You'd think but apparently the more popular color is white. Even here in Jax there will be more white ones circulating over any other color. I will have the only VO (even though 2 VO's will have been delivered when I get mine), but one of them was driven away to NY. Meanwhile, there will be 3 AW's and one BSM around here.

Yes I do. BMW is putting on O'fest at Barber this year and I've been to VIR quite a few times. The last race I drove was a 24 hour enduro at VIR.

I too drove along Highway 5 to Sixes Rd yesterday :-) I'm the neighbor of mfinch99 with the other AW. So it could have been me. These things aren't that rare anymore are they.

I'm calling for a Canton/North Georgia club meet.

With 40% of cars in white and orange... Orange would be just as popular...

I am going to try to make it to RA Sept 9-11.. it's just a few days after I return from my ED.


I will be at Ofest at Barber October 10-16 .. if the car gods smile... and my car doesn't sit in a port for weeks, maybe I can pick up my 1M during the Ofestivities.
