Remapping M Button

It seems that the tuning company LEIB was able to remap the M Button to control the exhaust flap. Any other tuners out there capable of doing this?

There is no flap on the OE 1M exhaust system. I think this tuning company installed one of their own flaps with their SW tune.

Our cars don't have the flap stock. It's used in conjunction with LEIBs exhaust with flapper. Kinda like the Akrapovic one, except instead of a dongle it's the button on the wheel.

I wonder what they did with the tune though, just keep the throttle mapping to be always in the equivalent of Msport mode?

1M Akra exhaust:
  • inner exhaust tailpipes (2+3) are connected to the muffler
  • outer exhaust tailpipes (1+4) are independent from the muffler
Akra butterfly valve:
  • closed = canalization of exhaust flow only through the inner exhaust tailpipes (2+3) (outer exhaust tailpipes (1+4) are blocked) (± stock 1M exhaust sound)
  • opened = canalization of exhaust flow through all four exhaust tailpipes (1+2+3+4) (race exhaust sound)
Akra butterfly valve closed (code white) (± stock sound):

Akra butterfly valve open (code red) (race exhaust sound):

Akra butterfly valve open (race exhaust sound) (comparison with the inner exhaust tail pipe):

I guess I should rephrase my first post. It was more along the lines of is it possible for other tuners to program the M button let's say for valet mode or something other than just for throttle remapping. Or let's say different consecutive presses could add an additional feature or make those changes to other buttons on the steering wheel.

The referenced solution by Leib, reads specific canbus activity (in this case produced by a steering wheel button push) and from such a read-out trigger any non OEM event by use of a relay switcher block. Fi an exhaust valve etc.

Oh~ I thought it was reprogrammed in a way for other functionality rather than just a relay

Has anyone had the M button coded to also enable MDM mode at the same time?
I find those two go hand in hand for me.
