ZHP knob. I don't know anyone who has one who doesn't swear by it, myself included. The weighting is perfect.

I had the Performance knob which looks more similar to that one and didn't care for it. It wasn't as comfortable to use and the weighting wasn't as good.

I currently have the zhp. Love the weight and shifting. I just like the the Type R- S2000 feel knob. I really wanted the F3x performance knob but it doesn't really go with my trim option. And 175 is ALOT of money for a knob.

I have the ZHP. I'd like it to be slightly taller but think it should be by lengthening the shaft not the knob.

Then you'd have to shorten the throw to compensate for the longer travel.

So I just leave it.

Mine is a 5 speed knob....so I have super secret 6th gear.

I have one just like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Weighte...-/391939461531

VERY heavy and with the SSK lever installed it makes shifting much smoother IMO. It adds a little height for added leverage and it almost just shifts itself into the next gear once you get it out of the current gear. Only draw back is how cold it gets and stays in the winter time but I just switched from the stock MSport knob and the benefits are worth the chilliness

I would take just about anything over the stock knob on my 128. It's awkwardly shaped and feels relatively cheap. I just dont know what I want to replace it with yet

I also have a UUC ssk installed. What are the measurements on your knob for height and width? This one I'm looking at is 4.1" in height and 1.77" In width. So I'm hoping the extra height of the knob isn't over kill

Well I ordered it, so I might have a fairly new ZHP to unload once I get the new one.

Count me as one who doesn't swear by it. Gave it a solid 2 week try-out, too. Still, it lasted 2 weeks longer than the Performance knob did.

Can't wait to get rid of this awful knob. I run a weighted M 6spd knob in the E46. It's weighted like the ZHP, but stock height and no silver ring at the bottom. Got one for this car now.

ZHP is actually 5.4oz and the weighted M knob is 6.7oz, so a tad heavier and the stock height (stock for e46s) gives more leverage for smoother shifts.

I had ZHP, is ok, but too stubby and I hate the silver ring at the bottom. This M knob is basically the best part of the ZHP, weighted, black leather, M logo on 6 spd pattern, but stock height and no metal.

About the same price as ZHP I believe, about $85. *Sorry, forgot to provide part # if you want to search ebay/google/ECS:

Almost identical. I think there's a slight difference, the ZHP knob being a bit more square, but they're very similar in terms of feel and weight, just the ZHP being shorter and a little "pudgier" I guess.

Are you just using the stock M-Sport knob? I didn't see an upgraded one in your interior mods list....I've had the performance knob for a couple of years, the weight is nice but not the shape. Wondering what options others have used outside of the normal ZHP, M-Performance etc.

After I ditched the ZHP knob I went back to the M-Sport, but I'm currently running the BMW Motorsport "golfball" knob and loving it.

Golfball knobs are about as good as it gets.

Hm interesting - what's the weight of it compared to the M Performance or ZHP or even stock M-sport? ANd from the looks of it, I can't quite tell how it interfaces with the shift boot? I have the alcantara M-performance shift boot, would this knob mate up fully with the shift boot or would the shaft be visible with the boot "loose" below?

TIA

It's not heavily weighted or anything. It's just just a knob.

In the loving the ZHP knob camp, enough so I'm not looking to change it out. I'd custom ordered my ZHP so I wasn't adding the ///M logo.

I have never seen the 10g one, can anyone review the 10g one?

I didn't even realize they had a heavier verison M knob vs the ZHP. And now 10g is sounding like ALOT! It's coming from Europe, so it's going to be a few weeks until I receive it. But yes let's hear any feedback on some heavier weighted knobs. It seems like the knob that I purchased has gotten all 5 star feedback. But as we see here lots of different opinions for personal options

Lol - understood. After some digging I found a post showing it weighs only 70grams I think vs 160 for the ZHP or something. Only inquired about the weight as I find it helps smooth out the shift action somewhat, and would prefer that.

It does look lovely though....something to think about...

Do you guys know the difference between grams an ounces? 28gs in an ounce. 10g is nothing.

ZHP knob is 5.4oz or 151 grams.
