Please read the part about the airbag sensor in my DIY. It's attached to one the plastic eggcrate looking things in my pic. Those pieces have to be replaced as they ARE different from the 128 to 135. I got my parts from Dan at United BMW and it included all the bits and pieces.

I am sure it costs up in the 600$ range at least! My estimate was around 645$ with paint. The DIY guide right here is a good way to save you 200-300$ install... if you have 2-4 hours to figure it out

Updating thread! This is by far a lot harder than just removing the bottom (8 or so) 8mm screws and the (4) 8mm wheel well screws. I went ahead and took out the taillights for ease of working space and to see how things work.
First off there are (3) 8mm screws in the wheel well holding the wheel felt trim in place that needs to be taken off so you can access the last (1) 8mm screw actually holding the bumper in place. In addition, there is also (1) 10mm plastic screw in the wheel well that needs to be taken out. In order to access the 4th 8mm screw in the wheel well you need to peel back the wheel well trim and reach up near the top corner of the bumper. After this you can slowly work out the hidden clips. It may not be as easy as working it from the wheel backwards as sometimes the clips don't just pop off and you might break them! I peeled it back and at the same time used a screwdriver to pry the clips downwards and pulled. In addition if you plan to do this there is no need to get new crush plates. You can use existing 128i bumper screws etc.. you will need (2) extra 8mm body screws with built in washer and (2) speed clips. Everything is basically plug and play! The extra screws/speed clips help hold down the diffuser more securely and helps my sanity when seeing 2 open holes that need screws! I believe the parts are $3-4 from BMW. Total time today was 2.5-3 hours. Could be shortened if you have a friend helping to get both sides done at the same time.

i know im reviving a really old thread.. but figured its better than starting a new one with the same subject.. but..
.. does anyone know if this (135 cover with diffuser kit) is still for sale?.. Tried looking for it on unitedbmwonline.com and couldn't find it.. also tried to pm dan and no response... just trying to get the bumper already painted AW. if not then.. does anyone know a good shop around orange, California that can paint match a primed bumper? thanks in advance... |

Reviving this old thread because Im desperate to find out if you can retrofit a 128i PDC bumper with a 135i bumper without the PDC holes (and still retain PDC).
Silly me for getting a 135i bumper without the PDC holes (new to 1 series) |
