leasing vs finance

I noticed some US car dealers like GM, Ford etc are getting rid of their lease option for customer buying a new car.
Simply because they are losing a huge amount of money based on lease returns.
They have a 7 year finance option for new purchase now.
Do you guys think BMW and other German car dealer will follow?
