Cooked throwout bearing

I started hearing some nasty noises from the clutch area… Pulled out the box this afternoon and found my throwout bearing is melted in one spot (pic attached). Anyone got any ideas why this would have occurred? Cheers Jay Edit: think i can answer my own question.
