my car hates me (what's the most annoying thing your car has done)

so

1 week ago car throws cyl 6 missfire code

1 bimmer geeks protool app
6 injectors
1 kdan + C cable
1 set of O rings
1 set of decouplers

later the cars running good

and then this shit happens HOW does a fuel line from an injector snap and a clean break at that

like honestly my car is taking the piss at this point

As in, you managed to snap the steel fuel line? (theres no pic) That'd take a bit of effort!

haha yes, that steel/whatever higher pressure pipe.

Damn that sucks, someone must have leant on it to break it clean off, or creased it when moving the rail off to get the injectors. I've replaced 6 of mine myself and can see how it can happen.

luckily prestige barbarian in Dandenong Victoria had a few spares and they managed to sell me to for $45 each instead of the price I got quoted from BMW being $120 each

got replacements for cyl5 (the snapped one ) and cyl 6

update

so when I got my injectors replaced, BMW dealer mechanic installed the bracket upside down

this meant that one injector was held in by one tab and caused the tab to break, which put extra pressure on the fuel line causing it to snap, luckily it doesn't appear to have ovaled the injector port

moral of the story,

if you want something done right do it yourself

negative

dealer declined having done any work on the car, despite having charged me and provided a receipt.

I then provided this as evidence of work completed and they back tracked quickly and said their apprentice did the work, I asked them to cover the costs of the tow truck, parts and my time and labour (a very generous $25 per hour)

and they advised they can't do that and that they will be terminating the apprentices employment.

I advised if they don't terminate their apprentices employment AND reimburse me for just the parts that I would not take legal action.

waiting on a response

Might pay to read some of the consumer laws for this. It's always nice to have a printed copy with the relevant section highlighted.
