Looking for member with SHORT SHIFTER in socal

Anyone in 818 SFV with a short shifter kit installed willing to meet up and let me feel how short the throw is before I go out and buy one? I'm not asking to drive your car, I just want to compare the throw. Thank you.

Anyone have a UUC or B&M ssk on their 135i that I can try out. I don't want to drive your car, just want to get a feel of the shifter. Thanks

I'm in Glendale and have the SSK is sitting in my trunk, waiting to be installed lol. It's the BMW Performance once. I've had it on my E92 as well and I loved it. I can help you out once it's installed.

I'm installing it with the ZHP knob though, which I think you'll like better.

I have the B&M SSK on order so I'll have mine soon. Heavier shift knob would be nice too.

Here are a few comparison pictures for those who are interested in getting a B&M SSK. The instructions provided with the kit was very straight forward. I ordered my B&M SSK from www.race-mart.com for $165.

http://www.race-mart.com/items/produ...123-detail.htm

I also bought a new transmission shifter pushing and a securing clip from http://getbmwparts.com/

Impression:
Stock shift distance is about 2 inches and reduced to about 1 inches with B&M SSK. The throw is a bit stiffer but I can shift through the gears with a few flick of the wrist.

That's probably the best SSK comparison documentation I've seen. Well done! Thanks for posting, because the difference in shift throws is visibly quite clear.

Hey, I live in the 818 and would like to compare my BMW short shift lever and DSSR with your SSK. Maybe we can do Chipotle in Northridge or something. Let me know!
