Wheel Balancing

I want to get my winter wheels /tires installed by a garage down the street. I only put about 2000 miles on tires last winter so do I need to get the wheels balanced again?

No, probably not. Put them on and go for a road test. Typically an out of balanced wheel will vibrate at 55 to 65 mph. As log as you stored your wheels flat(horizontal) - I think you are ok.

You should not need to be rebalanced. I'd take it up to 80 mph for a true test.

Agree with the other posters. I used to go about 5k per season and would balance only every 2~3 years or so.

No you should be fine. If you put them on and the steering wheel is shaking while driving then it is time to go. Your wheels should be as balanced as when you took them off.
