Unhappy Serpitine Belt shredded again

Hello All,

So this past weekend my serpentine belt shredded with no prior warning (no squeeling, no oil smell, no oil smoke) and i took it to the BMW of Nashville to get it fixed. They claim that it was due to leaky valve cover and ofh gasket(which i replaced a year ago)but truly I dont believe that because there's no puddle of oil on the ohf as there was last time before I replaced it. So today I was driving and boom it shredded again, not even 24 hours from picking it up, now it's back at the dealer as we speak. When I received it from the dealership the first time I noticed a very loud humming sound whenever the Air Conditioner was turned on. I ordered the new valve cover and gaskets last night and was going to replace it this weekend. But I got a feeling that the dealer is going to blame the "leaky" ofhg and charge me to replace it again. Anyone have an insight on this or can help me? I feel so lost and appreciate anyone who has an idea. Thanks

P.S Before I replaced the ofhg the first time it leaked for a few months and never had a problem with the serpentine belt.

Check the bolts on the power steering pump to make sure they are tight, and also check under the pulley on the subframe to see if there are scrape marks.... the older 135s had an issue where the pulley would contact the subframe and shred the belt.

check your altenator pulley. make sure when you jam the inside gear, that the pulley will spin counter clockwise freely, but not clockwise.

my belt shredded and that was the cause.

^^ what he said too... make sure there are no pieces of shredded belt behind any pulleys, especially the alternator. Sometimes it gets caught up in there, it can be hard to see
